“Gorgeous trip for two”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2011

I went to the Hotel Klosterbräu with my boyfriend for 10 days, and i have to say that it was one of the best holidays i have ever had. The staff was really friendly and courteous (they new my name after 1 hour!!!) , the host family charming and the rooms and amenities in the hotel are beautiful. The new Spa area is the most unique i have ever seen. They have a really nice big indoor pool and the new outdoor pool should be finished in summer 2011, so we are looking forward coming back in summer. We enjoyed the different saunas and made some relaxing treatments. Seefeld itself is a charming little town where you can ski, relax, hike, have a drink and spend a lot of time together. The locals where really helpful and friendly.
All in all we can say that we will come back for our next summer holiday, of course it was a little bit expensive but it was definitely worth it.

First of all, I must say that we didn't choose by ourselves to stay in this Hotel. We were guests and came to support our national skiers on "FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2011" in Garmisch Partenkirchen. So, we came without any expectations of the hotel but just wishing that we could have possibility to skii a bit. It turned out that Hotel is really cosy, not tipical modern five star Hotel. I would even dare to say that is a hidden gem.The food is great (buffet breakfast, slow food dinner -really tasty, creative choice, ..), Rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean. Hotel has a nice SPA, so anyone wishing to relax can really enjoy. As I said before , we came to skii and to support our national skiers in Garmisch (which is cca 30-45 min from Seefeld by car) and in relation to that, Seefeld is definitely not skiing destination (at least for us) but you can't be bored with day or two skiing in Seefeld or Garmisch. I saw also a lot of people hiking on ski slopes. Now, back to hotel, it is really great place to stay and relax, nice stuff who really did the effort to make us feel welcomed. I liked Hotel's effort for personalized approach ( bath coats with our names on badges attached, little heart with a Hotel name as gift on departure, postcard ("as a "thank you letter") from hotel waited for us at home, ...and so on). All in all, the Hotel is great but for longer staying, I would rather choose some other location/place. ( it doesn't have anything with a hotel)

We booked this hotel for our wedding as we had travelled to many hotels in Austria to find the perfect place and the Hotel Klosterbrau ticked all the boxes.
The wedding planner, Agnes arranged everything for our wedding and we had the ceremony in the wine cellar by candlelight. The attention to detail was perfect and all the arrangements were stress free and exactley what we wished for.
The special touches in our room for the wedding and throughout our stay made the whole experience one that we will never forget.
The days before and after the wedding were wonderful. The family Seyrling were very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The service from the staff was first class and the food was amazing. The staff within the restaurant were really attentive and made the dining really special each evening. They arranged for a table in the wine cellar for just us two by candlelight, which was simply wonderful.

The wellness area is great. All the different treaments you can have and the bread sauna was really original.

I cannot thank the hotel Klosterbrau enough for making our wedding so magical. Our guests and ourselves will never forget it.
We would definately recommend this hotel as it is the best 5* hotel we have stayed in. We hope to visit them again soon.

This hotel is in the absolut middle of Seefeld located in the pedestrian area of the village next to the square and the church. They have a newly renovated and absolutely gorgeous spa area themed in teh spirit of a cloister. Currently they are sitll enlarging that spa, but you won't feel distrubed by that.

The rooms are spaceous, the food perfect and what is there more to wish for?

On first impression the hotel seemed to friendly and efficient. The building itself is quite nice and it's impeccably clean. The chambermaids do a sterling service However, you shouldn't judge on first impressions alone.

The dining room in the Klosterbrau is an experience we've never had before in Germany or Austria. At one point I actually thought it was all an elaborate hoax.
I wondered why none of our fellow diners were smiling or chatting amongst themselves when we first went in for dinner. Then I realised why.

To say the staff are incompetent would be an understatement. Drinks and food orders were wrongly written down and even a whole course was forgotten about. When the food did arrive, it was of a quality that I would not expect from a street vendor, never mind an allegedly 5 star restaurant. It does not matter how nice the presentation is, if the stuff on the plate doesn't taste right the dish won't work. Breakfast was even more chaotic. How hard can it be to get a pot of coffee?

Next we have the lobby bar. How can anyone justify the prices they charge? Small wonder that it was almost permanently empty. (It is possible that the pianist contributed to the lack of customers - crimes against music are being commited in that place). Don't bother going to the braukeller underneath the hotel either. The staff are too busy chatting to their friends to bother about customers.
Best advice is to walk out of the front door, cross the street and go into the Kaltschmidt. The waiters there are very friendly, smile and joke with the customers and each other, and you won't need to take out a bank loan for a glass of wine. Don't bother going to the braukeller underneath the hotel either. The staff are too busy chatting to their friends to bother about customers.

Oh, and there is the car parking. In an 'attended' car park. Really? That'll be the public one by the main road then. Never once saw an attendant there.

The swimming pool at least was clean and well maintained but don't bother with the fitness suite, only the rowing machine worked properly.

This hotel has the potential to be excellent, but it lets itself down by sloppy standards.
The owners would appear to be more interested in having their photographs taken with Austrian celebrities than in making sure their business is being properly run.
In an industry that relies on keeping customers happy, you would think they might make some attempt at doing so.

The Klosterbrau is living on it's past reputation. Maybe it should think about the future one as well.

This is a very special hotel located in the very heart of Seefeld. Originally built as a monastery, the hotel is actually attached to the church. The hotel has been in the ownership of the same local family for the past two hundred years. From the minute we checked-in, the level of personal service was remarkable. Almost all members of staff acknowledged us by name from the outset (how do they do that?), and nothing was ever too much trouble. The concierge service was outstanding and members of the host family, who were always in evidence, were very keen to ensure that we were enjoying our stay. Our rooms were excellent in all respects and the quality of housekeeping was among the very best we have experienced.

The quality of food was superb, both at dinner and breakfast. Had we so chose, we could have had a seven course gourmet tasting menu every evening as part of our half-board package! However, Seefeld also has a number of very good restaurants and so we felt tempted to try them out as well.

The hotel spa was excellent, and is being further upgraded this Autumn - we have already decided to return next year to sample the new facility.

Seefeld is a busy skiing resort in the winter, yet also makes every effort to keep its summer visitors entertained, from walking and cycling to paragliding and white-water rafting. Lake swimming is also very good. With Innsbruk just 30 minutes away by train, there is never a dull moment in Seefeld!

We stayed at the Klosterbrau for a week and had a thoroughly good stay. The outstanding feature was the quality of all the staff. They were friendly and helpful from top to bottom. They all made an effort to make us feel at home and relaxed.
We were on half board and so ate in every evening. We were impressed by the quality of and presentation of the food, which was Austrian in style but not 'heavy'. Our room was to a high standard . If I was looking to be critical of anything, it would be that we found the hotel quite hot but that is a minor complaint in the overall scheme of things.
