“Tourist trap”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

I am Greek. The food is below average, not original and overpriced, hence full of tourists only. The service is extremely slow, the place looks nice but management allows smoking even indoors (this is a very common practice all over Greece though so I did not take it into account)

“Value for money”
Reviewed 15 January 2014 via mobile

A hidden restaurant to the old town. Very delicious Greek dishes at more than good proportions.
Fast and polite service.
Don't miss that spot..

“Worth the the time to find”
Reviewed 14 January 2014

We enjoyed a great traditional Greek meal here. It was worth the adventure through the lovely town of Nafplio to find this gem. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was inviting.

“worth travelling to Naufplio to eat here”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

The food is top quality local Greek specialities cooked to perfection. Hidden away behind the town hall, this is the best place in Naufplio and one of the best places in Greece. We had fried prawns which were fresh and just as they should be, some wild horta, gigandes and chick pea salad, all were 10 out of 10

“Hidden gem (well, it was until it got discovered!)”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Fortunately discovery hasn't removed the charm and local feel and decent food served at O Noulis.
Set away from the main tourist drag in Nafplion - it's one of those places where after a few visits your like an old timer.
The owner & chef, Noulis, has his own charm - the food, while its not exactly like eating in a Greek home, is pretty darn close. In the winter months and during the week it feels much more local - but even in high season it was great to go back to. Hoping it continues to deliver good quality in a friendly, warm setting.
As a Chicagoan (birthplace of the flaming cheese) I was impressed with Noulis offering it to his guests. Turns out he has a cousin or brother or someone in the US who sent him a Greek restaurant or Greek church cookbook that included a "recipe" for cheese saganaki - and thus, a Greek American invention found its way on to an authentic Greek taverna menu.
The world works in mysterious ways, and if your way takes you to Nafplion I think it's still a good value, the food is tasty and the service good.
