We spent 2 nights in Nafplio at the Byron Hotel during Easter 2014 , we planned our trip at the last moment and this was the only place where we found a triple room available after having called directly at least 20-30 hotels .
Our stay in the Byron hotel was very relaxing, thanks to the nice family who owns the hotel and who was very kind and helpful , our room was nothing special and very basic , especially the bathroom that we didn't like, however as said it was the only room available and it had a nice view on the roof of Nafplio and on the fortress , breakfast was pleasant , free wifi
The hotel is in a very central location in the old town , as many other people said , going there is difficult , we had to call the hotel twice because we couldn't find the place, definitively better to park close by and walk to the hotel.
Watch out: there are many stairs to arrive at the hotel front door and then to arrive to our room (3+ floor), we I found it a bit too tiring , not suitable for old people or with family with very young kids with strollers
Overall nice experience for very short stays, we liked the nice atmosphere , the warm hospitality and the extremely good price, however in case we will come back to the gorgeous Nafplio, we think we will stay in a higher category and more confortable hotel

We stayed here again this year - for the fifth time. Would not consider staying anywhere else in Nafplio. It's in a great position, very easy to find and just a short walk from the bus station. Great view from the upper floors. Comfortable, clean, welcoming, friendly and a delicious breakfast. Lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Room 33 is the best, but don't try to book it when we're going!

Byron is in the Old Town of Nafplio, very close to main streets and square, and not far from sea front. It's quite a small place, family run I think, and the people who run it were very helpful with information about where to eat locally, and about bus travel onwards, and local information. The room was simply furnished, very clean ,the bed was comfortable, the bathroom, with shower, small but adequate. Good breakfast (juice, yogurt, bread etc) included in the price, making it excellent value for money. NB, it is located on a street (actually mainly steps) which slopes up towards the hill above the town, and there are around 20 steps up, I think, so it would not be suitable for someone with mobility problems.

Nice hotel. Nothing fancy but it has an Old Venetian charm. Finding the place is a nightmare however since the correct location is not marked in Google maps, it's in the pedestrian-only Old Town and nobody speaks English properly in the area. There's illegal parking all around Old Town but the nearest legal parking lot is in front of the port which is frequented by Roma beggars. Not a problem, more of an fyi.

- good location in old town
- friendly staff
- quant and antique decor
- bed and accommodation are pretty basic but suitable for a short cheap stay.
- great homemade fresh breakfast with yummy croissants, bread, fruits, yogurt and granola, fresh pressed OJ, coffee of your choice, etc.
-walkable from everything
-there are a flight or two of stairs that you need to climb to get up to it that could be difficult for older people, etc.
- need to park outside of old town and walk to the hotel about 3-5 blocks depending on where you park.

A quiet, comfortable small hotel in a charming town. Not luxurious, but tons of ambiance, good service, cleanliness, and the best breakfasts! Don't think I will ever again be able to buy yogurt here at home. And how often do you get fresh-squeezed orange juice when traveling? Great view of the water and much of the old town from both my windows. Easy walk to most attractions, and to shopping and restaurants. Staff went out of their way to make my stay pleasant, but were never obtrusive - just there when you needed them! Lovely patio for breakfasting or just sitting and reading or writing postcards with a cup of coffee (or a coffee freddo!) I always felt safe, both at the hotel and when out wandering on my own in town or on the hiking paths. This was a wonderful choice for a few quiet days after visits to Istanbul and Athens with adult children and grandchildren! You will need to be able to climb stairs, and you may need to confirm and re-confirm your choice of room. I had double-checked on my choice (recommended by others who had stayed there), but was still bumped to another room that was not to my liking. Fortunately, they then found me another room, which was acceptable, but didn't have the balcony I had insisted upon from the beginning. I received a discounted price for my disappointment, which helped.

Room Tip: I wanted the triple room with a balcony on the third floor, but was bumped to the room next door (#3...

We stayed in Nafplio for few days and Hotel Byron was one of the best decisions during this holiday:) It's located very close to the old town and port, and to the beach - maybe 15 minutes. The rooms are clean, comfortable and cute, romantic style. You will also love the breakfast, especially fresh squeezed orange juice.
