We stayed at Pension Marianna after seeing Rick Steves' travel video of Greece. My husband and college friend we were travelling with usually don't get swept up in travel hoopla, but this was just too good to avoid. It was by far, the best place we stayed in Greece, and we would go back in a heartbeat. The rooms were extremely comfortable, quiet, full of character and old world charm (renovated, not kitchy). The service was phenomenal - each brother was a joy to talk to and they're love of the Pension shows in the work they do to keep it clean and welcoming. Fresh organic oranges from the courtyard, and homemade lemoncello - can I just move in, brothers Zatos??

Room Tip: We stayed at the bottom of the hill (the hotel is multi-level), so our door was street level - great...

We arrived at the Pension Marianna with high expectations after reading numerous positive reviews, and it still managed to exceed those expectations. The setting is stunning, with quite possibly one of the finest vistas we've witnessed from an accommodation - you get an almost panoramic view of the town of Nafplio, the sea and the distant mountain ranges. Just be aware that the penalty (if you can call it that) for such a splendid sight is lots of steps to climb to reach it from the town!
The room itself was dripping with character and very comfortable. Furthermore, the owners are very welcoming and hospitable, and provide breakfast on the bar terrace with the aforementioned killer views for you to enjoy whilst eating.
Overall, a gorgeous accommodation in an equally gorgeous part of the world!

We would love to come back to Nafplio and Pension Marianna. Our two room apartment was really charming, clean and comfortable for our family of four. The view from the terrace where we had breakfast was spectacular and well worth the climb (102 steps). The location was great with just a few minutes walk to the heart of the old town. The owners recommended a parking place just uphill from the hotel and that work out just fine. A very nice beach was located a15 min drive from the hotel and it was easy to make day trips to e.g. Epidaurus and Mycene. Breakfast was excellent and with a lot of choices. Last but definately not least, the owners the Zoto Brothers, were really nice and helpful and made us feel very much welcome.

Breakfast on the patio with homemade cakes and jams and a spectacular view makes Pension Marianna a very special place. It is high up in a quiet neighborhood but a short walk into the heart of old town. Our stone room was beautiful and kept out the heat of the day.

The proprietors were very helpful with restaurant recommendations, parking, and printing boarding passes for us.

We stayed at this pretty hillside hotel for two nights. The owner and his son were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful opening to a terrace shadedby trees with small tables where one can sit and relax after a tour of Palamidi fortress.
Breakfast was heartywith local produce.
Will definately return an recommend !

I would go out of my way to stay here again. The location is great (a bit of a hike up the hill with your bags, but once you're there the view is worth it), the rooms are great and the staff are lovely. The breakfast was excellent. I can't think of anything they could improve on

I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Greece over 20 years and this is one of the best. It is beautiful, with delightful rooms (ours was a quad with two twins in a cave-like room downstairs and a double upstairs in a 2-room suite). There are tiny kitchenettes as well, a treat in Greece. The Zoto brothers were warm hosts and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely with fresh orange juice from their orchard, home-made cakes with ingredients from their farm, eggs, rice pudding and several other selections. Eating on the patio was a lovely experience. But very best of all was the location. It is right in the old section of town, the old Turkish section right next to one of the two castles! The view from the patio looks up to some of the fortifications. A quick walk up and over the peak takes you to the beach. A 2 minute stroll the other direction and you are in the old town. Couldn't be a better experience. We came with 16 students, all of whom loved this. We will certainly be back!
