An excellent, clean, wonderfully decorated and very comfortable family owned hotel. The hosts are welcoming and pleasant and Akis, one of the hosts was extremely helpful, polite and friendly.
We loved our stay there and will be returning again. Very reasonably priced with an excellent fresh and abundant breakfast. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Book ahead!! Only 5 rooms available. This is a heritage, small hotel.

This family run hotel in the heart of Napflio is a gem. Small and supremely gorgeous. Pan and Akis are outstanding hosts and the concept of 'small' for breakfast is difficult to communicate. We used this hotel as a base for 6 nights, visiting the historic sites of Epidavrus, Mycenae and Olympia ( by way of Kalamata). Every day we set off with a goodie bag of beautiful Greek pastries and the best oranges I've tasted in many a year.
The rooms were extremely comfortable and pristinely clean and the location second to none.
Excellent, exceptional, exhilarating.

Located in the very hear of this ancient Venetian town, this hotel is a marvel in its own right. The mother-son owners go every step to keep their customers happy.
Four of us actually miscalculated our busy route and arrived one day early - and the owners made all arrangements to accommodate both couples in their - and the neighboring - hotels. They also helped us with parking which may be a problem on the narrow ancient streets and squares.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean, the beds - comfortable, the truly home made breakfast - hearty, and the price - very reasonable.
Once again, the hotel is close to practically everything in town - shopping, eating, drinking, walking, and exploring.
Bottom line - highly recommended.

Excellent place to stay. Mother and son where extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms nice and cozy. The location was also good as it located three blocks from the bus station and taxi stands. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting this area.

We stayed at the Aetoma Hotel in September and can only reiterate how wonderful it all was. Akis and Panagiota are excellent hosts, full of information and they go out of their way to be helpful. Pangiota's breakfasts are amazing - the best we had in Greece. The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet square but within easy walking distance to all parts of the old town.

Aetoma Hotel in Nafplion, Greece is a beautiful boutique hotel in a lovely city an easy drive to Epidavros and Mycenae - 2 very worthwhile sites for those interested in Greek history. The charming owner, Pan, and her equally charming son, Akis, were our hosts for 3 nights in their tastefully decorated and lovely small hotel. Pan lives next door and is totally dedicated to running the best possible accommodation for travelers. Both Pan and Akis were so hospitable and helpful, it just made our whole 2 week trip to Greece.
Pan would move her car so we would have a parking place near the hotel and would prepare fabulous breakfasts with lots of fruit, yogurt, breads, eggs, and the very best local orange juice.
Akis was a fluent English speaker, very intelligent, and did not miss an opportunity to help out with everything including directions, maps, and any tourist information that we might need.
We stayed on the top floor room which was lovely, but everything in the hotel is refined and understated. We appreciated the trip advisor reviews as we may have never found such a delightful inn without the great input from reviewers. So, thanks, Pan and Akis for making us so welcome and hope to see you again. The Boyles

AETOMA

I stayed here with some friends earlier this year and found it to be an absolute gem of a place. It is cosy and comfortable and right in the middle of the small town of Nafplion.

Firstly the welcome could not have been warmer – and our hosts went to some trouble to make many suggestions of places to eat and things to visit (note that they were horrified that we wanted to walk up to the castle – it’s actually not that bad and the views are exceptional).

The rooms themselves are recently renovated and are cosy and comfortable with surprisingly well appointed bathrooms. They aren’t huge but then most people don’t come to Nafplio to hang out in the hotel. Some, like ours, have small balconies which are perfect for sundowners and people watching. The ones at the opposite end from the square overlook some of the town’s narrow walkways which can get busy at night. During high season, the rooms by the square are probably a less lively choice.

Breakfast is served in the small seating/ dining area by the tiny reception. Be warned it is HUGE. Plates and plates of delicious food, from cheeses and ham to omelettes, bread and pastries appeared every breakfast time until we declared defeat.

The location is great – not that anywhere is far in this small town. There is even parking right downstairs in the square (major bonus). The challenge of finding spaces was made fantastically easy by the owners expertly moving their cars around to accommodate ours.

I'll definitely stay here again if I travel to Nafplio.

Room Tip: The rooms on the square side will be quieter in high season.
