We have stayed in the hotel twice (with 2 young children) I can honestly say that the staff in the horse and jockey are the nicest and most helpful we have ever come across. In particular Trish at reception couldn't have been more accommodating. In relation to the rest of the staff each went out of their way to help us. Stay here if you want great service and value for money!

This must be one of the very best Hotels we ever stayed in. The bedrooms are beautiful, large and very nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the nights rest is superb. The food is the best ever and we can always rely on it being exactly as we like it. The price range is excellent. The breakfast is very varied and they cater for coeliacs serving Cereals that suit. Tom Egan deserves great credit for his friendly and welcoming manner. Because of his personality the hotel gives off an air of ease and homeliness. It is filled with lovely cosy couches and has an open fire to laze around. I love it there and will always be going back as we have family living in Holycross so it is nice to have somewhere homely to come and stay when visiting. Well done Tom.

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Everything about the hotel is great, We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the room was just fantastic. The food was delicious and varied and the location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the surrounding area
I would like to thank all the staff for making our short so pleasant.

I wish I had known how isolated this hotel was before I booked it. There is literally nothing beside it. Rooms were very average but fine. The lobby area, particularly near the spa and pool area were a bit unkempt looking, tables with dirty cups and plates sitting on them all day. I wouldn't stay here again.

We frequently break our journey here when travelling between West Cork and Dublin. We would highly recommend it as an interesting place for tourists to visit as it combines an attractive mix of old traditional Ireland and the new. The pub is the traditional part with its charming horse racing theme and country style interior which I imagine has changed little over the generations. The food served there ranges from snacks to tasty full meals. The Silver Hill duck with braised red cabbage is delicious. The more modern hotel and spa which is a continuous part of the same establishment also has a restaurant with the same menu and super comfortable lounges where you can enjoy great tea or coffee, sandwiches or freshly home baked cakes during the day. There is also a tasteful and well stocked gift shop for attractive yet not overly expensive items for the home or special person.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. i was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. unfortunately we were not able to spend as much time as we liked at the hotel a we stayed there as we had to attend a funeral. however I am going to booka weekend away for my family soon and enjoy the facilities this wonderful hotel has to offer.
The staff are a credit to the hotel . Keep up the good work.
