“Excellent Spa Resort, some minor notes”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

The hotel was amazing, I wish I could have stayed longer - we didn’t get to do any of the outside walks which looked lovely and the reception offer you raincoats and wellies if you decide to venture outside.
We literally didn’t leave the hotel for our 2 days - that is their aim. They encourage you to wear your bathrobes everywhere, which is nice. The spa is incredible, they had so many different spa rooms -salt room, infrared room, sauna, scented sauna, outdoor sauna, relaxations rooms, dark room (for after your treatment) pool, water jets… Be sure to book your treatments and dinners in advance - they fill up very quick.
They don’t allow newspapers into the hotel, only out in the foyer as they want you to escape into a ‘cocoon’. Phone signal is poor (I wasn’t complaining) and there’s very little wifi in the hotel but that's part of the whole experience.
There are board games in the sitting rooms in the front house, and also a selection of DVD's in reception.
The only things it was missing was there was no tea/coffee in the rooms. Also, I expected a better variety of fruit/healthy snacks in the relaxation rooms for after your treatments, but there was only 3 bruised apples left by the time we went in. (I left these comments with the hotel).
The food was amazing in the restaurant (the only place they ask you ask you to dress formally is for dinner in the restaurant) and also in the bar, which was more relaxed. Everything is organic or gluten free or home made. Just amazing.

Monart Destination Spa is difficult to surpass as a place to relax and leave the outside world behind. Deliberately facilitating wifi access and newspapers to one area of the house and subtle reminders to forget about work set the tone for your stay. However to me, the real winning feature of the hotel is the staff. Everyone you meet is there to ensure you have a positive stay. There is no such thing as a problem only a challenge to them to smooth any wrinkle you may encounter.
Set in a rural location, off the beaten track the hotel is set in a centuries old country house with a spectacular modern addition. Great use is made of the natural surroundings even to the hotel producing its own drinking water.
Even 24 hours here will recharge your batteries. Enjoy!

We have just returned from a two night stay celebrating our wedding anniversary at Monart. This was our fourth visit which says a lot in itself. From first welcome to final departure the experience was terrific. Food, accomodation, spa and espicially the staff make a break at Monart worthwhile. Special mention to Michal who went out of his way to search for a precious piece of jewellery that we misplaced, his perservance and attention to detail is indicative of the quality and care that we experienced at Monart.

* * * * * are so well deserved. Look forward to a return visit soon.

Myself and my partner just returned from our fourth trip to Monart. We planned to get away for two nights over Valentines to relax and de-stress and Monart (once again) did not disappoint! From the minute you arrive, a wave of calm just comes over you and you feel completely at ease.

We couldn't get a table in the restaurant or the bar for Friday night (my fault for not booking in advance) so we ordered room service and went down to the bar later that evening for some cocktails instead. We literally spent all day Saturday in the spa, getting treatments and enjoying the pool and different rooms. It was heaven! One of my favorite things about visiting Monart is wandering around all day in your robe and you don't even need to feel guilty about it. ;) Again my advice is to book your treatments well in advance to make sure you get the treatments and times you want.

Breakfast here is just amazing! They have a great buffet selection of porridge (with fresh honey and cream - it's divine), pastries, cheese, meat, cereal and breads. On top of the that, you order your hot breakfast and juices/smoothies from the menu. More top hotels should take note here, it makes such a difference. The three course dinner here is also brilliant but the desserts could be a little bit better. They're definitely less fine dining than the rest of the menu which is faultless.

Finally, the staff just make Monart what is! Always happy to help and offer advice, everyone from the therapists to the waiters were just so lovely. Thank you for another special weekend, we're already looking forward to our next trip!

PS. Bring back the blueberry smoothie!! It was amazing! :)

I have visited Monart so many times and it remains such a precious place. Each time I arrive I feel exactly the same as I did when I first discovered this gem, many years ago - it's an amazing place, so relaxing. A visit to Monart is the only true way to fully appreciate true peace and harmony.

Room Tip: I love a room overlooking the pond, but really all rooms are gorgeous.

My husband brought me to Monart for a 2 night stay in August. I was really impressed with the entire place, it really feels like you've detached yourself from reality. The rooms have everything you need but in a minimalist way without being cold and sterile. The colours and feel used in the rooms are completely neutral and because of this the whole atmosphere is extremely calming. The staff were truly excellent, very attentive but again not in an over-powering way. The food was incredible. The Spa is very well laid out. Because we were there on a weekend the spa was very busy, if I was going again I'd go mid week in the hope that it would be slightly less busy. The treatments were good (I had a mini facial and a head massage), I have had better - there was nothing particularly wrong but I've been to quite a few spas and I've definitely had better. Overall it was a great weekend and it is truly an excellent way to escape the real world.

What a fantastic weekend! Spent 2 nights here on the 17th and 18th of January. It was our second visit and was just as good this time. Nice to see that they are adding new features and treatments in the spa. The spa itself was impeccably kept and maintained. We did the couples mud chamber which again was very good. My only complaint was the fact that my deep tissue massage wasn't very deep and the lady did not seem very experienced and the value for money aspect was disappointing as all in all the treatment lasted approx. 45mins from meet and greet etc etc.
The food was simply excellent we ate in the restaurant both nights as the choice and range on the menu left us wanting to try everything. The chef has really got things right here and has a real talent for balance, flavour and originality.
Checked out Sunday feeling really well rested and chilled. Looking forward to returning...... so much so I purchased a voucher so we have an excuse to "have" to visit again!!
