Our first day in Pollenca so we decided on tapas for lunch and chose Bar Alhambra on the basis of how busy it was. We were unable to get a table outside but after a short wait we managed to get one inside. The food was good but in my view over-priced. Good service and helpful/friendly staff.

Stayed in Pollenca for 2 weeks and came across this place one night and stopped in for a drink. After seeing (and smelling!) so much good looking food coming out we returned for a meal later in the week. The food did not disappoint and was fantastic. It is simple but wonderfully well executed and extremely satisfying. Everything was great but the beef stew was particularly good (think another reviewer has posted a photo). It is in a nice setting in a small square just off the center and there was a lovely atmosphere for eating or drinking. Service was excellent too with a nice friendly laid back style. All in all highly recommended

Like many of the other reviews, what lead us to this place was the large number of locals eating and socialising here. You can see why, this is a real gem. Don't expect a modern take on tapas, this is just really amazing simple dishes. The seafood was really impressive from the octopus or the cod to the clams, all were really fresh and cooked to perfection. The only disappointment was the pork, which was a little overcooked. The outside setting area is a great place to watch the world go by.

Lovely little cafeteria style resturant tucked away on the way up to Calvari behind the main church. We asked for tapas for six and it was amaxing. Bread, aioli and olives. To start but not baguette delicious local bread. White bait and anchovies and manchgo cheesr, squid, spicy octopus, then the most delicious pork and beef dishes I have had. Luckily saved some bread to mop up the sauce. Loads to eat, amazing location, friendly staff. Couldnt ask for more.

We stayed in Puerto Pollenca but came to the old town a couple of times for the markets and to eat one day. We spotted it first time round when visiting the markets but didn’t eat here. I’m so pleased that we found this place again and that we ate here. Its usually full of locals to pick the best time either early ish about 12:30pm or about 3:00pm. The guys who own the place are great, the wine they were serving us was fantastic Rioja and the glasses key getting larger and larger every time we asked for a refill. The croquets were some of the best we have ever had and we have been very fortunate to travel all through Spain, very light and not too rich, meaning you could have quite a few of them!!! The octopus salad was really tasty and not too greasy but the start of the show, and I have included a picture, was the beef cheeks with potatoes. Oh my god were they good, great tasting beef slow cooked for hours and hours in a lovely vegetable based (he told me the sauce takes longer than the beef) Spanish pepper sauce served with little fried potatoes that again didn’t taste greasy at all. You only need one portion of this between 2/3 of you as it is very filling. At the end of the meal the great barman, who is actually original from Uruguay, comes round with free shot of liquor that unless you like spirits I would avoid as it nearly stripped the skin off my throat , very strong, but saying that my wife seemed to drink hers so maybe its just me.

Great little find, lovely lunch, 30 meters from the main square worth finding and digging out.
