Had a meal at Las Olas some years ago and gave it another try with my husband. It is a more traditional Spanish restaurant and may not look as appealing as some of the new restaurants that have cropped up around the bay which are more up to the minute in terms of decor. However, you should not be deceived by how a place looks as several of the fancy restaurants around the port do not live up to the hype.
We both chose calamari romana to share as a starter which were delicious - not rubbery but tasty with fabulous batter and served with aioli. Next we chose sole, which were enormous and very well cooked and were served with vegetables and boulangere potatoes for a very modest price compared to some menus we had looked at elsewhere.
Another table was occupied by a lady who clearly enjoyed her tuna salad and a crowd of cyclists ordered a marvellous looking fish paella at another.
It is a traditional restaurant that gets it right.
The interior of the restaurant was spotless as were the WC's. Not something I normally harp on about but it makes a change to use a clean loo
