“Beautiful property but bad value for money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

We had great expectations of Ca Xorc. As an agri-tourism farmhosue, we expected it to be bucolic, quiet and very relaxing. The property is very beautiful and well looked after. The garden is immaculate, the place is clean and well decorated and the farm is located in a very picturesque hill.

The German owners must be excellent business people. This hotel is probably very profitable. Unfortunately at the expense of its customers.

We expected a very relaxing stay but after paying more than 800 Euros for two nights in a very small room, what we enjoyed were sleepless nights. Especially the last night due to a wedding happening in the hotel (until the very late hours of the night). We were obviously not informed that there would be a wedding when we made the booking. If we were, we would not have chosen to stay in the hotel!

Breakfast took forever as there was only one poor lady trying to serve it (in the garden - beautiful views) during a fairly cold morning.

So costs seems to be kept to a minimum and so does guests experience.

The hotel manager gave us a bottle of olive oil as compensation which we chose not to take. She also emailed us to apologize afterwards.

There are many other beautiful places in Mallorca, a place definitely worth visiting but I would avoid Ca's Xorc. Not a great way to use your money, nor time!

We are extremly sorry that your stay with us was spoiled down to disruption around late one evening with noise from our reception area. We work very hard to ensure all our guests have a wonderful experience but unfortunatly some instances fall out of our control.
The noise from the entrance area was due to the bridal couple staying with us and their 20 happy diners waiting for taxis which were very late.
Our aim is for everybody who stays with us to enjoy the hotel, the restaurant, it's pool and gardens.
We go to great expense coupled with experienced personel to make sure staying with us at Ca's Xorc is a true island experience.
We take any negitive feed back very seriously. We do again apologise for your disruption and would dearly like for you to stay with us again!

Ca's Xorc is situated on the mountain road between Soller and Deia. It's a very winding drive followed by an extremely winding road.

The Hotel has some of the greatest views of anywhere I have err stayed. it's perched on a hill on the side of a mountain so you get amazing views in pretty much every direction. It is surrounded by oliver groves (working ones, which provide the hotel with its own olives and olive oil), and citrus groves.

There is a nice, small pool (with a safe area for children and a deep area for adults), a very good restaurant and local short and long walks around the property.

I would say a perfect hotel for a romantic getaway, or for foodies who want both a brilliant restaurant in the hotel and close access to the good restaurants in Deia and Soller.

We travelled with my 4 year old daughter and to be honest it is not an ideal hotel for kids - a lot of steep drops on the paths, and apart from the pool, not an enormous amount of safe stuff for kids to do. That said, she loved it and we will definitely be back. The staff arranged for her to feed the donkeys one morning and she loves the lizards, frogs, eagles, sheep and cats that live around the hotel !

Hotel restaurant in the former olive pressing room was the best of a number of restaurants we have been to in the Soller / Deia area. I think it is better than L'Olivo in La Residencia.

Breakfast buffet and hot food is extensive and generous, very high quality.

All in all, a great hotel, now our favourite in Mallorca.

Room Tip: Room 3 has a large balcony / patio with views in 3 directions

Ca's Xorc is in a stunning location - overlooking the mountains, breathtaking. If there are not too many noisy guests it is a haven of peace and tranquility and the gardens are stunning. The pool is unheated so it is rather torturous to swim.

My room was lovely, though the bathroom fixtures are a bit tired and need updating. Maybe you could say that adds to the charm of the place...The hotel manager is very charismatic and helpful and the food delicious in the evening. The breakfast is fine.

You are right on stunning walking trails. You might need a small car to navigate and park there but it is manageable as is the easy drive from the airport. If you are older you would need help bringing your baggage in but they do all help you.

Just back from three days at Ca's Xorc and feeling rejuvenated! The views second to none, food exquisite and a calmness we have not found in any other hotel we have stayed in and we travel a lot.

We returned after a 10 year gap and felt we had never been away. Will make sure we don't leave it so long next time. So easy to get there from the UK but so different feels like a real holiday. The old train from Soller to Palma is a must if you need to unwind and enjoy the stunning views.

This converted olive oil press has been interestingly converted into an hotel of some character.

Some may say there are trip hazards throughout and that the steps up to room IX should be graded "easy", however, if one keeps one's eyes peeled and one's wits sharp then all may be negotiated without PPE.

The views from this eyrie are majestic, with the Majorcan karst at its best in early evening as the sun begins to go down. The gentle tolling of sheep bells and the attentive barks of some canine rascals in the distance only add to the charm of this idyl.

The single track road does not so much wend its way windingly up to the hotel as thrust its path tortuously with some extremely challenging zigs and some equally demanding zags. It is the mark of a true professional chauffeur of the motor car to be able to negotiate said serpentine meanders without the need to engage reverse gear at any point on the climb. I must confess that I am not that man, having had to engage it once...

Room Tip: Bring a kernmantle for room IX.

Having lunched here previously and liked the look of it, we went to stay for a week in summer. We were not disappointed. It's absolutely beautiful. Quirky and familial, everywhere you look or sit is a delight. The rooms are rustic and simple, with air con etc. the building is stunning, as are the grounds, pool etc. we ate in the hotel restaurant every night, on the terrace overlooking the beautiful mountains and Soller and Porto Soller . The food was fabulous and though the menu didn't change there was enough choice for six days. We loved this place, and the manager, Inigo , was a charming and good host. We had 6 days but felt although we'd been away for longer. Can't wait to go back. Simply beautiful.

We just left Ca's Xorc for the third time - this time the most special of all as it was the venue for our wedding. This is one of the most beautiful and romantic places we have ever been and so many of our guests said the same, so I know it's not just me being biased! On every occasion we've visited, the food, rooms, service and our overall experience have all been impeccable. The four course meal we had on our wedding day was exquisite and to deliver to that standard for a big group of people says it all (big up to the fabulous chef!). But every time we've been it's been the same - the Ca's Xorc team has never disappointed. Ca's Xorc has it all - the views, the food, the amazing pool (and hot tub) and just something special that's impossible to put into words. And it's only a ten minute taxi ride to the beautiful square and Port of Soller which are equally stunning. We absolutely love everything about Ca's Xorc and Soller and plan to go back for years to come. We've even started to meet other guests who make regular trips, which says it all. Thank you to Carina, Inigo and the whole team who can't do enough for you but also make everything look effortless. If there's something you need, you should ask! No-one can say a bad word about the hotel in my book - it's a unique place and one that will be in mine and my new husband's hearts forever. Go - you won't be disappointed, you'll treasure the time you spend there, it's simply beautiful.
