“Laid back, understated luxury”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Ca's Xorc offers days of laid back, under stated luxury overlooking Port de Soller in the Tramuntana mountains. Piece and quiet, goat bells, excellent cuisine and very friendly service. Will always want to come back

We spent two nights here as part of our two-centre Mallorcan wedding anniversary break and thought the hotel was perfect: a fantastic mountain location looking down across olive groves to the sea at Port de Soller, a beautiful traditional villa, good food and helpful staff, all with fantastic weather thrown in,
Ca’s Xorc is located up a narrow hair-pinned bend approx. 4km from the centre of Soller, so if hiring a car, make sure it is a small one.
Once you’ve negotiated the windy road, you find the beautiful three-story villa, with attractive traditional furnishings in the common areas inside and gorgeous terrace and gardens outside.
We had a large room/suite on the top level (a sort of loft conversion), with sizeable terrace and an amazing view of the valley. The room (VIII) was tastefully furnished with comfortable bed, separate lounge and large ‘bathroom’ areas including a free-standing bath and separate shower. As well as doors opening out onto the terrace, there were two other separate doors/juliet balconies overlooking an internal courtyard. The completely secluded terrace was large enough for two bar stools and table as well as two sun-loungers, which were perfect for gazing up to the unbelievably star-jammed night sky. The room was air-conditioned, although we slept with the terrace doors open.
We had dinner at the hotel one night, enjoying both a wonderful sunset and a lovely meal from the terrace. Although there was a short menu choice, the food was impressive and the wine list comprising Mallorcan and other Spanish wines seemed good value.
We also had breakfast on the terrace, although the buffet is located within the hotel. There was a good cold buffet choice with hot dishes also available on request.
The unheated infinity pool is a few minutes walk from the hotel but its location and view are also amazing and the temperature was perfect at the end of a couple of warm days. There is an honesty pool-bar with soft drinks and beer available (although no wine or spirits).
Service from our arrival and throughout our stay was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Although the charms of the hotel and its surrounds could quite easily mean you don’t want to leave during your stay, Ca’s Xorc is good base to explore the area. It is just ten minutes away from the beautiful town of Soller with the port and Deia just a little further. Palma airport was about 35-45 minutes away.
Of course, such a beautiful hotel comes at a price, but compared to a recent trip to the south of France and a similar styled hotel, it was most definitely worth it and we would loved to have stayed a little longer.

Room Tip: Room VIII was up lots of stairs but was excellent and would ask for it again.

We had two nights at Ca's Xorc at the end of our holiday to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect!

The hotel's setting is magnificent. The view takes your breath away and the extensive grounds mean that you feel like you have your own private garden to sit in.

We had a superior room, which was very comfortable, but the bathroom was a little small, however that was the only downside. The rest of the hotel is beautiful and the communal areas looked very stylish and comfortable - luckily we didn't have to use them because it was sunny!

Because the pool and gardens are so beautiful you don't really feel like leaving, but if you do exploring the local area is great fun and there are numerous beautiful villages and towns up in the mountains.

The icing on the cake for us was the food. It was delicious. To be able to sit out on the terrace, watch the sun go down and eat the best home cooked food was wonderful. We are foodies and the chief did not disappoint. All the staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and wine.

We can't wait to go back and would definitely recommend Ca's Xorc to everyone! The only thing we were told was to ask whether there was a wedding happening when you book, apparently they have one every 2 weeks or so.

Room Tip: Basic rooms have windows to the inner courtyard, superior rooms have outside windows and deluxe room...

We had great expectations of Ca Xorc. As an agri-tourism farmhosue, we expected it to be bucolic, quiet and very relaxing. The property is very beautiful and well looked after. The garden is immaculate, the place is clean and well decorated and the farm is located in a very picturesque hill.

The German owners must be excellent business people. This hotel is probably very profitable. Unfortunately at the expense of its customers.

We expected a very relaxing stay but after paying more than 800 Euros for two nights in a very small room, what we enjoyed were sleepless nights. Especially the last night due to a wedding happening in the hotel (until the very late hours of the night). We were obviously not informed that there would be a wedding when we made the booking. If we were, we would not have chosen to stay in the hotel!

Breakfast took forever as there was only one poor lady trying to serve it (in the garden - beautiful views) during a fairly cold morning.

So costs seems to be kept to a minimum and so does guests experience.

The hotel manager gave us a bottle of olive oil as compensation which we chose not to take. She also emailed us to apologize afterwards.

There are many other beautiful places in Mallorca, a place definitely worth visiting but I would avoid Ca's Xorc. Not a great way to use your money, nor time!

We are extremly sorry that your stay with us was spoiled down to disruption around late one evening with noise from our reception area. We work very hard to ensure all our guests have a wonderful experience but unfortunatly some instances fall out of our control.
The noise from the entrance area was due to the bridal couple staying with us and their 20 happy diners waiting for taxis which were very late.
Our aim is for everybody who stays with us to enjoy the hotel, the restaurant, it's pool and gardens.
We go to great expense coupled with experienced personel to make sure staying with us at Ca's Xorc is a true island experience.
We take any negitive feed back very seriously. We do again apologise for your disruption and would dearly like for you to stay with us again!

Ca's Xorc is situated on the mountain road between Soller and Deia. It's a very winding drive followed by an extremely winding road.

The Hotel has some of the greatest views of anywhere I have err stayed. it's perched on a hill on the side of a mountain so you get amazing views in pretty much every direction. It is surrounded by oliver groves (working ones, which provide the hotel with its own olives and olive oil), and citrus groves.

There is a nice, small pool (with a safe area for children and a deep area for adults), a very good restaurant and local short and long walks around the property.

I would say a perfect hotel for a romantic getaway, or for foodies who want both a brilliant restaurant in the hotel and close access to the good restaurants in Deia and Soller.

We travelled with my 4 year old daughter and to be honest it is not an ideal hotel for kids - a lot of steep drops on the paths, and apart from the pool, not an enormous amount of safe stuff for kids to do. That said, she loved it and we will definitely be back. The staff arranged for her to feed the donkeys one morning and she loves the lizards, frogs, eagles, sheep and cats that live around the hotel !

Hotel restaurant in the former olive pressing room was the best of a number of restaurants we have been to in the Soller / Deia area. I think it is better than L'Olivo in La Residencia.

Breakfast buffet and hot food is extensive and generous, very high quality.

All in all, a great hotel, now our favourite in Mallorca.

Room Tip: Room 3 has a large balcony / patio with views in 3 directions

Ca's Xorc is in a stunning location - overlooking the mountains, breathtaking. If there are not too many noisy guests it is a haven of peace and tranquility and the gardens are stunning. The pool is unheated so it is rather torturous to swim.

My room was lovely, though the bathroom fixtures are a bit tired and need updating. Maybe you could say that adds to the charm of the place...The hotel manager is very charismatic and helpful and the food delicious in the evening. The breakfast is fine.

You are right on stunning walking trails. You might need a small car to navigate and park there but it is manageable as is the easy drive from the airport. If you are older you would need help bringing your baggage in but they do all help you.

Just back from three days at Ca's Xorc and feeling rejuvenated! The views second to none, food exquisite and a calmness we have not found in any other hotel we have stayed in and we travel a lot.

We returned after a 10 year gap and felt we had never been away. Will make sure we don't leave it so long next time. So easy to get there from the UK but so different feels like a real holiday. The old train from Soller to Palma is a must if you need to unwind and enjoy the stunning views.
