After extensive research we decided to book hotel Salvia for a quiet week to relax and unwind. On arriving at the airport and seeing all the hen and stag party groups we thought we had made a terrible mistake however the revelers went one way and we went the other. We were met at the airport by the lovely Patrick in his straw hat, he whisked us away from the airport in his air-conditioned car and from that moment I was on holiday. I highly recommend asking Patrick to collect you his price is cheaper than the taxis and it saves struggling on the narrow streets with suitcases. The hotel is breathtaking, very central and lives up to and beyond my expectations its a beautiful spanish town house sympathetically renovated with antiques at every turn and one of the most stunning gardens to relax in. The pool in the garden was lovely for cooling off in and cleaned every day, the sun beds by the pool are plentiful and fresh sun bed towels are provided every day, food served at the hotel Salvia is delicious and fresh we attended both the Barbecue and tasting menu evenings and I would highly recommended both. The lunch menu at the Salvia is also very good and I particularly liked the salads which were lovely and light on a hot day. the breakfast for me was perfect a delicious fresh fruit salad good selection of cheeses , meats , yoghurts and cereals, you can have eggs and bacon as well but this is 4 euro extra and we never felt hungry enough to order it.
In the room on the first night we had a lovely complimentary bottle of Cava and I was very impressed with the tea and coffee facilities in the room. China cups are provided as well as 6 sorts of tea and three sorts of coffee to choose from, the hotel also provided a jug of real milk in the fridge every day to make your drinks.
Bathroom- had lots of free toiletries which were replenished every day, the hotel also provided me with a super fast hairdryer at my request
WI-Fi is free but reception by the pool in the garden can be a bit hit and miss
What is lovely about this hotel is the intimate service because we were one of 12 guests we felt really pampered and looked after more like visiting family friends than a hotel fantastic service.
Massage- Walking is very popular in Soller and we did attempt to walk to Fornalutx which in the high summer heat was quite a challenge, the day after this walk I booked a massage in the hotel it cost around £45 and was absolutely lovely and one of the best massages I have had.
One of the nicest meals outside the hotel was at the Kopitiam which did the most amazing spare ribs I have every had however go early as they do sell out quickly, meal for two here including drinks was about £60. Also in port de Soller our favorite was Es Passeig, if you go order the tenderloin and chocolate fondant dessert both dishes are outstanding, the meal with drinks was about £95. As we only went on holiday for a week we treated ourselves to some of the best restaurants but you can eat much more cheaply as well.
All in all it was a lovely holiday in a very pretty quaint Spanish town, if you want peace, quiet beautiful settings and great food then this is the place for you. I know that patrick Sasha and Ling never read these reviews but just in case thank you so much for making our holiday such a wonderful experience xx
