“Good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014 via mobile

More than a basic hotel and we'll worth the money we paid during the Easter holidays
Good clean room with a view of the mountains so was nice and quiet in the evenings
Breakfast was continental but was delicious and the best coffee machine ever for the cappuccino plus you could eat outside as the weather was glorious, some days the sun beds were all taken up but the pool was good and the staff were all very friendly and helpful
Would definitely stay here again, one little thing to be aware off the nearest cash machine is at the other side of the bay, not all the cafe bars take cash so make sure you have a little cash at hand just in case

We stayed here for a week and had a really great holiday. The fact it was 24* every day helped. Pourto Soller and Soller town are really beautiful and are real easy to chill put in. The hotel is in a fantastic location on the pedestrian promenade and has excellent outdoor seating. The back of the hotel is the pool area and faces the mountains and was a great place to relax but I think it would be extremely hot there in high season. The cafe menu is not good enough and if it was we woud have lunched there more but there is lots of good café and restaurants along the promenade and on the beach. The hotel is spotless and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. A Sea view room is the way to go if that's what you prefer. We will be back to Soller again this year and I have no hesitation in staying at the Marina.

We had originally booked a room with a mountain view but when we were taken to it we found it was in an annexe and on the ground floor with a poor view of the mountains! We were up graded to another room in the main building for an extra charge but with a wonderful sea view. The room was not large but had been recently decorated and had a new bathroom. Our room was just above the outdoor cafe/ bar area so people could be heard chatting late at night but they did not keep us awake. The promenade light was also quite bright.
The reception staff were helpful and spoke many languages. The bar area, outside and inside was very comfortable, serving tea, coffee, food and drinks. The hotel was busy with walkers, cyclists and tourists and the buffet breakfasts a bit noisy and busy. There was a large choice of food but it didn't change from day to day and sometimes had to wait for the clean cutlery or further supplies of food. More staff would perhaps have helped. We only tried the evening buffet once and was rather disappointed in the amount of food available for us and also the quality was only average.
Lovely outdoor pool and decking for relaxing and admiring the mountain view. Also free use of jacuzzi and sauna ( pre- booking required and deposit on towels).
Great location for walks along the promenade, the tram to Soller and walks to the lighthouse.

For what we paid (£350) for a week's B&B, you could have no complaints. Nice spacious room with sun terrace, adequate breakfast, nice little spa and a very comfortable lounge area. Tables outside on the promenade also with heaters for when it got a tad chilly at night. Bar prices were very reasonable and the service excellent. Would definitely go back there.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room - worth that bit extra.

Stayed for a week in mid March and had a very pleasant stay. We love Majorca but it is the first time we have stayed in Port Soller which I would highly recommend for slightly older travellers, couples or families - certainly not a Magaluf or Santa Ponsa.
Soller bay is beautiful and a great place to base yourselves for a walking or driving tour at this time of year. The hotel is right on the beach so I would imagine a great location in the summer. Easy 30 minute walk into Soller Town (or get the fun local tram) which is a must on a Saturday for the market, when it seems the whole town descends on the main square for a lunchtime drink and tapas.
Some of the bars/restaurants were just opening up for the season but there was no shortage of places to eat and drink. One of our favourites was Campo Sol set back behind the hotel, great home cooked food, good service, and very good value set meals. We only had one evening meal at the hotel which was pretty good, but I think it would get a bit boring after a couple of nights. The same with the breakfast which was OK, but again no variety throughout the week, but I never went hungry with the beautiful fresh breads and pastries. One thing I think could improve breakfast would be to invest in an electric orange juicer- I don’t know how people had the patience to hand squeeze their own orange juice in the mornings!
The hotel is comfortable, the rooms are not a great size but adequate and very clean. The sea view is definitely worth paying the extra for, as the view is spectacular. We were told the back of the hotel was quieter, but not sure what the difference was at this time of year as there was no entertainment. Although, I can't image that unless you want to go to bed really early, that this would be a problem at any time during the season.
The staff, without exception were great and I would have no hesitation in recommend this hotel as a reasonably priced hotel in a fantastic location, would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get the views over the bay.

Stayed here with my husband for a week mid February and we were very happy with this hotel. Although the room was nothing special, it was very clean and comfortable and staff were happy to supply the extra pillows we asked for. All staff (including the owners who were there every day) took pride in the hotel and were very friendly and helpful. You can't get a cooked English breakfast, but there is a plentiful continental spread including wonderful freshly squeezed orange juice and 3 different types of really lovely fresh baked bread every morning and if you like fresh strong coffee you are welcome to get your coffees from the cafe (much better) and take them into the restaurant for free, We ate 2 evening meals in the restaurant which was excellent value for £ and was better than many of the restaurants along the promenade. There aren't too many good value restaurants in the port but Lua on the street up to Santa Catalina was well worth a visit as were Cafe Scholl and El Guia in Soller (the former for lovely fresh well presented lunches and light meals and the latter for the best authentic mallorcan cooking we ate anywhere) - all of these are very good value for money.
If you do just one walk during your stay, make it the old postmans path from Deia to Soller and stop at Son Mico for coffee and the best lemon meringue pie I have ever tasted.
We will definitely return Soller and to Hotel Marina again.

We stayed here for 4 nights on our trip to Majorca. We used the hotel as a base for hiking in the surrounding mountains.

The hotel is located right at the beach in Puerto de Soller. There is a promenade without car traffic on the front and virtually no traffic on the backside. In other words: quiet and peaceful, except possibly for any noise from entertainment - something we didn't experience.

The hotel's main facade and entrance faces north against the beach. If you have room on this side you will only have sun on the balcony very very early in the morning (if at all) and late in the afternoon, but in return you will have a great view out over the bay.

The hotel consists of two buildings. One old part and one newer part. We had room in the new part. This is not a modern design hotel. It's more like a 100-year old English hotel with a 1970 addition, but anyway we really enjoyed ourselves here. (I'll be back!)

A nice walk (or tram ride) a few hundred yards along the beach to the center of Porto de Soller. 10-15 minutes by tram to Soller. This is a perfect base for hiking in the mountains around Soller / Puerto de Soller. The beach is only 10 meters away and the pool is at the back / south. The hotel even has a spa, which we didn't try.

We were here in April and there were relatively few tourists - anyway this is hardly a place for young people - most will probably prefer more action in the resorts on the south side of the island.

Small lobby - where we, as usual, didn't spend any time.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the ground floor. View of the beach and possibility to sit outside. We liked it. Breakfast was good with a good selection.

Quite small rooms with alright beds. We had a room on the 3rd floor with balcony and sea view (and option). Plenty of room for two on the balcony, - even tight space for four. A nice place to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset.

Small but functional bathroom with marble flooring and walls.

The staff we spoke to understood English and were pleasant and attentive.
