“Old beauty brought up to date”

An eighteenth century nobles house sympathetically restored and updated. Our room that looked out on the main town square maintained the original wooden ceiling, fitting the bathroom and entrance as a room within a room. Wooden shutters opened, unglazed in the lower part to the square, yet there was air conditioning available in the summer months.
The central courtyard is a delight and the hotel have to discourage curious passersby from exploring, allowing a look through a doorway only. Only breakfast served, which has great choice including avocados, which were in season. Drinks and coffee available from the bar. Garachico has various restaurants including a great tapas bar at the back of the hotel (to be reviewed separately) so no problem finding a meal.

Room Tip: I suspect that all are good - opening onto the square are 203 and 204

Nicely renovated and equipt hotel located on an attractive plaza that is traffic free. The old stone and wood features have been kept and where ever possible the natural habitat of the venue has been retained. The court yard is impressive and makes a perfect relaxation area.

There is breakfast only( which is excellent) and many value for money restuarants near by. A great base for exploring tha area. We stayed for two nights which was about right.

Lovely quaint hotel set on the main square in Garachico, beautiful room, exellent breakfast with a huge choice, free wifi and a lovely reception area however reception is supposed to be 24 hours but the girl was asleep on the floor and wasnt happy about our late return. Great hotel though, would recommend.

Beautiful old building on the main square of the town. Our room was spacious and comfortable - it was provided as part of a package but I think it was one of their 'superior' rooms; first floor. No problem with noise. Excellent quality continental breakfast, wide range of cold meats, cheeses, rolls, croissants etc.Nice areas for sitting quietly, on the roof, in the viewing room, or in the courtyard. Staff very helpful, reception and catering. Would be very happy to visit again.

Lovely hotel on the square in Garrachico. Staff very helpful. Breakfast excellent choice available. We has such good weather for the second week in January that we were able to use the sun beds and hot tub on the roof. We would certainly return. The north of the island appears to be much quieter which suited us and is also much greener.

La Quinta Rojo, is a beautiful peaceful boutique hotel... The staff are very helpful, and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them... The rooms are comfy, and bathrooms well appointed, with all the lovely extras to make your stay pleasurable. The centre courtyard is a ideal for quiet chilling out reading a book with a pot of tea or glass of wine.. The Breakfast Buffett was good with good quality fresh products.. This is one hotel I will return to...

As we faced the hotel from the main town square I was already impressed with it's architecture. Once I had entered I was even MORE impressed. The building dates back to the 16th century. I felt very privileged to be staying in such a beautifully restored building. The courtyard has lush palm trees and poinsettia plants set in the middle and very comfortable sun beds arranged at one end. We found that the sun in January peeped into this section of the courtyard from 10.00 am Until around 12.30. However in the summer months I can imagine that there is plenty of greenery around to escape the sun and to lie in the cool shade. Around the courtyard, up above, is a balcony with some of the bedrooms leading off it. This landing along the balcony also had comfortable loungers to rest and reflect from. Our bedroom, a superior twin room housed two wide twins pushed together, a couple of chests at the bottom of the bed to house suitcases, a desk and chair and 2 comfortable rattan arm chairs. The bathroom is largish, however, the shower could have been better, but no big deal. We had AC plus heating. There is a balcony off the side of the room behind a 2 very large carved wooden doors. There is also another window behind carved wooden shutters which faces the very attractive main square. The square is enchanting with a convent facing and a church either side. All painted in pastel colours. It was a pleasure to sit on the small window seats which are carved into the wood adjoining the large shutters. Breakfast is very good lots of goodies on offer. Bread, rolls, croissant, Spanish meats and cheese. Boiled eggs, many jams, and fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurt and the delicious fresh orange juice too. Of course there is coffee and tea available and a selection of home made cakes. Everywhere is very quiet and tranquil. However, the church does chime every hour on the hour. But not between 11.00pm and 7.00 am. I am an insomniac but have to say the sound didn't bother me at all. One just gets so used to the dongs, after a while one doesn't even notice it. If I have one negative point to make about the hotel, it is to say that better lighting would have been appreciated in the bedrooms. The hotel is perfectly situated for parking the car and for accessing the town of Garachico. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. We stayed in the hotel for 9 nights. My husband is already talking about when we can visit again!
