One night stopover that completely exceeded our expectations. A large restored 18th Century house (now a hotel) with all the historic character retained but in a very comfortable and sensitive manner. Easy and free parking was available plus a very friendly and helpful welcome at reception. Breakfast (at minimal cost) was great and location perfect for walking around the village. Free wifi available in the comfortable sitting room and even late evening drinks in a small front bar. If I'm in this vicinity again in the future I would go out of my way to stay here.

Don't really have much to add to what's been said previously about La Casa del Organista. It's an ideal place to stay, perfectly located in a charming and picturesque old village. The property itself is stunning, both inside and out and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the countryside on a sunny morning is idyllic. All the staff, in particular Raphael, were excellent. It's slightly tricky to find the place on arrival, even with instructions. However, there is an alternative route, coming in from the top of the village and avoiding the Plaza Major and the narrow old streets, which is worth considering. In summary, a great place to stay at a reasonable price.

I've been to 31 countries and counting, and I think this might be my favorite place I've ever stayed! The owners and staff are great, the place itself is beautiful and comfortable, the breakfast is fantastic (fresh squeezed juice, lovely bread and toast, wonderful cheeses and meats, great coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries...), and nice amenities in the bathrooms! Rafael even tried to help me trace my ancestors in Spain and gave me many useful tips on the area, restaurants, etc. As a few people mention, you might hear the cock crowing or the peacocks, but hey, this is the country, so what do you want! It's a lot better than horns honking or noisy people. And your reward is the lovely views from the windows, balconies, and back terrace. I will be back!

Room Tip: Tell them what's most important to you (a balcony? quiet?), and they will give you the right room. I didn't mind the cock crowing, and wanted a balcony, and that's what I got!

We (2 couples, each their own room) stayed overnight in this rustic style inn. Rooms were very comfortable, and surprisingly spacious, given that it’s a historic building. The interior is stunning, and hard to believe how old the building really is. The enchanting location is quiet and peaceful, with a lovely view overlooking the hills and terracotta roof tiles of other old Spanish houses. Breakfast was nice, consisting of many local items, and the host was happy and chatty.
We would have gladly stayed here a few more nights. Recommended, if staying in this town

This hotel is located just a block away from the Plaza Mayor, so once you park your car you can walk around the entire town of Santillana by foot.

This is a beautifully restored old building. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are big by European standards, and have all the amenities expected by American standards, including hair dryers, toothpaste and brushes, shower cap, cotton puffs, creams, etc.

The hotel offers breakfast at 5 euros: do not miss it! in addition to what you see on the table you will be offered fresh orange juice, toasted bread of great quality, home made jam, etc.

Rafael, the Mgr, is THE MOST HELPFUL individual I have ever met. Ask him for advice on anything (where to eat, what places to visit in Santillana, what towns to visit nearby, etc) and Rafael will offer plenty details.

One word of advice: getting to the hotel by car was not simple if you attempt to do it through the narrow streets of Santillana. But if you call Rafael he will give you a tip that will allow you to reach the hotel bypassing most of the town (from regional highway 131, if i remember correctly).

Room Tip: The rooms located to the back (overlooking the Collegiata) have an excellent view. However: realize that you are in the country side, so you will be woken up by roosters, the Church bells, and horses playfully running around.
