“Lovely cottage for a great holiday”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I would just like to say a big thank you to R&R for letting us stay in the cottage. It was a lovely week in a lovely cottage, very beautiful location and well kept home. And thank you for being so accommodating to all my updates and issues!

Thanks for giving us a wonderful holiday.

“Excellent cottage, excellent service”

We stayed for 3 nights, and were impressed with the cottage. An old miners cottage, that has been thoroughly modernised. The cottage is cozy, and the toilet/washroom off the kitchen is small, but I would say the write ups of the particulars understate the facilities, particularly in the kitchen.

We were allowed into the cottage early, which was a bonus, as we wanted to put some food in the fridge, which was of ample size. We had also enquirer about the type of BBQ prior to our stay, as we prefer gas rather than charcoal. The owners advised that a new gas BBQ was in their plans, and it was duly available upon our arrival. We used it on our second evening, but there were some teething problems with it,, as it had been used before, and the owner came round and resolved immediately which was very refreshing!

The cottage is in the village, in a great location and has great views from all bedrooms, complete with a balcony and sun lounge in the top bedroom. 2 minute walk to pubs, restaurants, cafes.

Instructions for finding the cottage were straight forward, and key pick up was easy.

Phone signal is bad in the village, apart from Vodafone, so there is a "pay as you go" phone available for your use whilst staying at the cottage which is a thoughtful touch.

Internet is good.

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable 3 days and we would not hesitate to return.

“So good, we came back again!”
Reviewed 28 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Keldas View is a very comfortable home from home, ideally suited to a family. All three bedrooms are a good size with lovely views. The kitchen is well-equipped with a large dining table. The living room is also very comfortable with plenty of seating for six. The cottage has a lovely garden and we enjoyed a BBQ one evening. We also made good use of the little roof terrace in the evenings. It takes no more than 2 minutes to walk to the shops in Glenridding. It's also great to be able to start walks from the front door, eg Helvellyn. I have no doubt that we'll be back for a third stay.

“Lovely location”

We stayed in this cottage because of the location - we were attending a wedding at the Inn on the Lake and it was a 5 minute walk away. A little disappointed re 2 bathrooms - there was a large bathroom on the 1st floor with bath and separate shower and loo but the 2nd bathroom??? was a tiny (and I mean tiny) loo with wash hand basin in the cupboard under the stairs off the kitchen. This proved a little tricky as we were all trying to get ready at the same time, for the wedding. So maybe the description should be amended!! Otherwise the cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Beds were really comfy - it was warm while we were there so the 13.5 tog quilts were a little hot. Don't forget to take towels. Also be aware the 2 flights of stairs are very steep. The garden gets the sun most of the day and is a lovely place to relax after a days walking. Great views to wake up to. There is no phone signal in Glenridding except Vodafone - the owners supply a vodafone phone to use during the stay - excellent. WiFi available.

WoW!

We had to attend a wedding at The Inn on the Lake, the prices were crazy so decided to book a local cottage.

I emailed a few local and Keldas view came in cheap.

We arrived at 3pm on the Friday and it was clean heating on a timer and all nice and warm an the fire all ready setup to light.

The lease was for Friday - Monday but with work we left on the sunday. But still great value.

We explored the cottage and every room was clean, well furnished and the kitchen had every item you could want. More then my own house!

Tv's throughout and you can tell the owners are proud of the cottage and those who want to rent.

Washing machine
Dish washed
Dryer
2 fridges
Freezer
Ironing stuff,
Sheds to store bikes etc
basically anything you could want to e away from home. You only need to bring your own towels and food and drink everything else is supplied. Everything matches and not out of place like some other cottages where the owners just dump what I would say hand me downs or car bootsale stuff.

Logs and coal also supplied!!

I highly recommend this cottage and I will be coming back to explore the lakes!!

Amazing
