“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013

After struggling to find anywhere to stay for a friend's wedding, Chris and Syd were life savers! Not only did the call us back to let us know they could accommodate us after a cancellation they couldn't have been more hospitable once we arrived in their beautiful B&B. The facilities were ideal; very clean and very comfortable, and not only were we given a super breakfast in the morning but were greeted with homemade rolls and jams on our arrival after a long journey from Scotland. The setting is perfect for a good bit of peace and quiet but a 5 minute drive to the very quaint town of Portaferry. Would absolutely recommend the Ballyrusley B&B to anyone looking to spend some time in this
beautiful part of Ireland.

I agree with the rating and the excellent reviews given previously. We stayed one night - since we wanted to relax while touring it was great to have the private sitting room to read and relax.

Friendly, spotless and comfortable. Good advice on local spot for walk along the water's edge.

Ballyrusley B&B is the ideal place to stay for a nice relax. Located in some of Northern Ireland's most lovely countryside, the house is beautifully bright and immaculately clean. Syd and Chris were the perfect hosts, making us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely and tasty with more than enough options for us! We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning for the next time we can take a wee break out there! Also, most importantly, Syd and Chris' lovely three dogs were a delight to see - lovely calm, good-natured dogs who again added to this lovely, relaxing weekend away.

An ideal position to explore both coastlines of the Ards Peninsula. The stillness and tranquility are almost overwhelming (if that's possible!) The owners are flexible and both they and their beautiful dogs give a warm welcome. Great thought has been given to comfort and cleanliness. The double bedroom is spacious and the shower is one of the best we have experienced. The visitors sitting room was an added bonus - comfort and style!

Room Tip: The double room at the front faces west and there was still daylight at nearly 11.00pm.

It was great having you both as house guests and thank you also for your positive review not only of the B&B but also of the Ards Peninsula. Thank you also for mentioning that summer daylight is still present here at around 11pm. We do have blackout blinds in each of the guest rooms and will make a point of mentioning it to guests in the future in our welcome book. Once again, thank you for your review and we look forward to seeing you both again in the future.

An exceptional house in a glorious position plus perfectly judged hospitality. From the first moment of arriving, the place just calms and delights in equal measure. The spacious interiors are so comfortable and attractive and every consideration is given to the privacy of guests alongside a most welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast choices are first class, the views of the superb countryside are a joy and there seems to be an endless variety of fascinating places to visit and explore within easy reach. Syd and Chris are considerate and natural hosts - and their beautifully brought up golden retrievers and discrete tabby cat contribute to the idyllic setting they provide for their visitors.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong!
