This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Edington hill House, its a lovely big house great for get together's, yes some of the walls could do with a lick of paint but this didn't interfere with our weekend.
After our 1st visit 2 years ago I contacted Alison re a matter, and she was to get back to me, this didn't happen. Nothing that would put us of going back. This year however there were a couple of points I contacted Alison about twice since we returned and have had no response..............not good, both points I feel sure she would wish to address, very poor customer service.
Beautiful house in stunning rural location. We had 17 of us in the house and although the website states it sleeps 22 I think this is a bit of a stretch there are only beds for 14 and the rest of the beds are sofa beds. 1 of which was broken and one was really uncomfortable ( we ended up putting the mattress on the floor) pool is great as were the sauna and hot tub however the house could do with a wee spruce up in places.
This house is located not to far off the A1. It is best to take the turn off from the A1 at the Eyemouth junction. The post code we had did not get us to the correct destination but a helpful farmer advised us where to go.
The owners Dad is helpful in telling you how to use the amenities. Overall the house is well furnished and should meet the majorities of peoples needs. There was no need to light the log fire as the houses central heating was adequate.
The swimming pool, hot tub and sauna facities were good and used by all of our party.
The ping pong table was a little disappointing as all had expected a full sized table but it provided lots of challenges for all.
It looks like the house is used for different types of large party gatherings which must be a challenge for the owner and cleaners.
Me and 20 girls rented this house for a weekend in October for our friends 30th Birthday. We had an amazing time pool party on the Friday night, afternoon tea on the Saturday afternoon then 80's themed night on the Saturday night.
We had a lovely man show us around the house and how all the applicances worked.
The house is huge and has plenty of space.
Everyone who stayed loved the house and we all can't wait to return again.
The views are amazing.
Morrisons & Aldi are literally 10 minutes drive away which is great if you run out of items you would never guess a few miles down the road is a motorway!
Absolutely stunning house. Extremely clean and very well equipt kitchen. Beds where all made and very comfortable. Plenty of clean towels. Beautifully finished decor throughout. Pool is huge! Never worry about being cold the house is roasting! Thoroughly recommend this house for large party's or large family gatherings. Can't wait to revisit.
My brother, sister and I booked this house for a week away to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday. With a mixture of adults, teenagers and children in our group there was something to keep us all happy and we had a wonderful time. The pool and hot tub were lovely and warm and were checked everyday by Alison's dad, Ian. He met us when we arrived, showed us how everything worked and was a pleasure to deal with. The fact that he checked the water in the pool and hot tub every morning was reassuring and he was never intrusive. There are rules and guidelines in the house on how to use the pool and tub properly in order to keep the water clean and we made sure we followed them - the house is so lovely, why wouldn't you?
The kitchen was extremely well equipped. Cooking on the Aga was a challenge as we don't have one at home but there was also a normal oven so we managed fine and cooked a large meal for us all every evening. It was lovely having a dining table big enough to seat us all and we ate together there every night.
The bedrooms were lovely and spacious and having so many bathrooms was a bonus. The living room was also spacious and comfortable and there were tons of books and games for all ages.
The surrounding countryside was perfect, in fact the views all around the house were gorgeous. We fell asleep to the sound of owls hooting and awoke to nothing but birdsong. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed.
This house probably exceeded our expectations and allowed us to have quality family time together. We all said we would love to go back. I'd like to thank Alison for being so very helpful at the time of booking, and I'd like to thank Ian for being so helpful whilst we were there.

We rented this house out for a party of 14 girls on a hen weekend and it was perfect! The house is quite hard to find so leave plenty of time for arriving! The house itself is beautiful and very clean, the pool and hot tub are kept very well and the views are amazing! The house is quite close to Chirnside that has a shop for supplies and we took a trip into Berwick upon Tweed that took about 15 minutes in the car. In addition, the owners of the house were so helpful and friendly from the start. Great house, great location, highly recommended.
