We have stayed in several cottages over the years and this has to be one of the best. No saggy sofas and lumpy beds here!
We stayed for two weeks as a family of 4 adults and had a great time. The cottage was very comfy for 4 adults, great seating for chilling and watching tv. The kitchen table is a good size and was well used for board games. Most evenings we stayed in and cooked, and the cottage was well furnished with utensils to cater for home cooking.
There was plenty of drawer space in the bedrooms but only one small wardrobe, hanging space is provided via hooks on the wall but due to the sloping ceilings this was restricted for longer items.
The cottage was clean and well maintained and nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hosts who are keen to ensure you have an enjoyable relaxing holiday.
All in all a super cottage which I have no hesitation in recommending.
The cottage is located in the Scottish Borders Countryside. We wanted a quiet, relaxing and welcoming place to spend our Easter break - Stewards house provided all of this. There is plenty of space and comfort allowing us to enjoy the surroundings and the view across to the Cheviot Hills. Our hosts were excellent - phoning us to confirm plans and arrangements and ensuring the house was clean, tidy and provisioned for a good start. Edinburgh is a about an hours drive, Holy Island and Berwick-Upon-Tweed even closer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we were impressed that everything just worked smoothly - couldn't fault anything - many thanks.
We spent a week here during February half term with our three young children and it was delightful. The cottage itself was spacious and a perfect base for exploring The Borders and Northumberland. Simon and Emily were very friendly and we would defiantly look a staying there again.
What an absolutely lovely property, everything perfect and very comfortable, we had a great two weeks here and have now some fond memories. Thank you.
Just returned from our holiday stopping at Stewards House in Chirnside. The cottage was roomy, clean, modern, homely and so much more. Everything you need is there. Probably one of the most relaxing holidays I've had - I enjoyed it so much. Stewards House is in an excellent position to explore the beautiful surrounding attractions. The owners, Simon and Emily, were friendly and helpful. There is a local Co-op about a 1 mile walk and the staff were really nice. While there we also called in at the local pub called the Waterloo and really enjoyed the local brew - food was also served there if you wanted to eat. The cottage is excellent value for the money paid and the weather was sunny! I would definately recommend this cottage and will very likely be returning in the future.
Just returned from a fantastic week's holiday at Steward's House. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location and ideal for visiting the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. It was very well equipped, tastefully decorated and really clean. Lovely living room with a wood burner, excellent sized family kitchen, two large bedrooms(one ensuite)and a smaller room with bunk beds. There was a large wet room with toilet downstairs and a family bathroom upstairs. The children loved playing outside. The owners were really friendly and there was a loaf of freshly baked bread on arrival which was a nice touch. We would love to return here for another holiday!
What a gorgeous cottage and setting. The owners were lovely and made us feel at home. The cottage was so homely and relaxing especially with the homemade bread left for us on arrival! We would definitely recommend this property to anyone from a couple to a a family. We will definitely be back for another visit and have recommended it to friends.
It was our wedding anniversary while we were there so the cottage just made it a very special weekend.
