“Wonderful finding!”

We wanted somewhere special as this was our Silver Wedding celebration and chose this lovely hotel from the reviews that we read. We couldn't have chosen anything better. Cherry is a great host and Gordon a 1st class chef. The accommodation was lovely and clean with wonderful views and the food was exceptional. We will certainly be back again!

My partner and I along with another couple stayed at the Creagan House on three non-consecutive occasions within the span of 10 days. We did not do this on purpose! What brought us back was the unbelievable gastronomic creations of Gordon Gunn and his bride, Cherry, who also is responsible for running the front of the house. She does this with elegance and exuberance especially evident when explaining the intricacies of the food preparation and the importance of the pairing of the proper wine with the meal. They have a full service bar with 50+ single malts as well as an extensive high end (but not terribly high price) wine list that is to die for....This is not a B&B, rather, a fine restaurant that has the distinction of having quality, comfortable accommodations that would not remind you of a run of the mill B&B or hotel. Sourced locally, all of the food is prepared the old fashion way without time constraints and this is readily apparent after the first bite. If you are anywhere near Perthshire, this is a must for anyone who appreciates fine food.

I am not exaggerating when I say that my meal here was probably the best meal I have ever had. I took the opportunity to stay the night as a last minute decision as friends were staying here too. The room was traditional and cozy. It had every comfort you could imagine but all done in a " homely" sort of way. Very clean and very comfortable.

Nice little quirks, like the tea making stuff hidden away in an antique writing desk along with a selection of CDs for playing on the small player on the bedside cabinet. A boutique hotel this is not, but if you are looking for a homely feel, with a wonderful friendly approach by the owners, Cherry and Gordon, with truly stunning food and in a beautiful part of the world, then this is for you.

Decided to stay with Cherry & Gordon, as they are distant relatives, as part of our tour of Scotland. We were not disappointed. We were the only guests staying but they still put on an excellent breakfast, and we also spent the 2nd evening sitting with them and talking over a drink

Room Tip: just stay at Creagan House

Once again Cherry and Gordon are the perfect hosts, you just know that as soon as you enter Creagan house your in for a special time. We had the same room as our last stay (Top of the stairs first on the right) the bed was comfortable, sheets of good quality and pillows to sink into. The bathroom is just right and packed with all sorts Molton Brown. The food was exceptional and I can honestly say that its worth the 400 mile trip for one of Gordons steaks. There is an extensive wine list that covers all occasions that is reasonably priced. Breakfast was just perfect, with plenty of choices to set you up for the day.
You cannot go wrong here, if it just for a nights stop over of a few days you will not be disappointed.

Creagan House is a very special place to stay in lovely part of Scotland just inside the Highland border.

As always, Cherry’s warm welcome, Gordon’s immaculate cooking and the good company of other guests made for another thoroughly enjoyable stay at our favourite place in Scotland.

We were dissapointed to have to curtail our last visit here but made up for it with a 3 night stay this time. I'm not surprised that this establishment gets so much repeat custom. We met other guests this time who had been coming for 17 and 20 years. Once again the hospitality, accommodation and food were just superb. Gordon uses the best local and seasonal ingredients and produces beautufully cooked, wonderfully understated dishes, not too fussy but allowing the quality and natural flavour of the ingredients to be the focus of every dish. I especially liked his sauces which are never overpowering but compliment and enhance the dishes. The man is a master! Everything from the bread to the chutney to the shortbread is home made and you really can taste the dedication and expertise that goes into the food.
Throughout the superbly appointed bedrooms and beautifully decorated public areas the same attention to detail is manifest. Cherry is an accomplished hostess, welcoming and attentive with a warm personality and wonderful sense of humour and just makes it look easy. There are very few places where you get such quality food and service within such a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, reasonably priced and totally lacking any pretension. Creagan House is unique. Cherry and Gordon are a great team and consummate professionals. Thank you to you both. We had a wonderful stay and will return.
