The property is on sale, and whether the new owners whenever they purchase it convert it back to a house, or maintain it as a restaurant with rooms is of course unknown, but if they keep it as it is now, I cannot see the quality of the place being maintained. This was our second visit. The bedrooms are quirky and could do with a bit of updating, but this is a restaurant with rooms and not a traditional hotel. The food remains outstanding. It offers has a fixed dinner menu (starters, main course), with the only daily variations being flavour of soup and puddings. All the food is perfectly cooked and presented. Breakfasts are lavish and also superbly cooked. Amazingly large selection of whiskies of you are into that sort of thing. Baronial dining room is relatively recent, but convincingly done.
