“Beautiful family home”

We enjoyed an amazing week at Torbreck Croft House to complete our honeymoon touring the north west coast of Scotland. After 2 weeks of traveling and camping it was the perfect place to relax and explore what has become our favourite area of the Highlands.

The house is beautifully decorated with original artwork and lovely furniture. There is the real sense that this is a family home with lots of history, which makes it an even more wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed watching the deer in the garden every morning and evening, and making use of the lovely open fire. There is everything you might need from kitchen utensils to lovely blankets, an Ipod docking station, digital radios, very comfy beds, an excellent selection of books, games and much more!

It's also an excellent base for exploring the area. We visited Cape Wrath, Handa Island, Quinag and Stoer peninsula, as well as the stunning local beaches. The fish and chips at Achmelvich beach were excellent, as were the pies from Lochinver larder.

We would definitely recommend a stay at Torbreck Croft House.

“Ideal cottage ,lovely location”
Reviewed 24 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Torbeck house is clean very well equipped and in a great location ,3 of us and our little dog stayed but 6 could easily stay here, deer in the garden were just a delight in the morning or evenings,we were ideally situated to get round all the beaches few of which were very close by and all very clean .the pie shop in Lochinver is a must but we didn't visit any other hotels or restaurants .the only draw back in the area is the midgies but take plenty of repellent etc and you will be fine .

“Another fabulous week at Torbrek”
Reviewed 22 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This was our third holiday at Torbrek Croft House and we loved it just as much as on our previous visits. It was like coming home. The cottage is so cosy and superbly located that we were able to relax immediately. We were able to enjoy the small family of deer passing in front of the cottage morning and evening from the comfort of the porch and enjoy the view of the whole of Assynt from the hill behind the cottage. We were blessed with excellent weather again and spent a lovely day on Achmelvich beach, finishing up with really good fish and chips from the small take away near the beach. We did some great walks including climbing Quinag. Lochinver was as welcoming as ever with its excellent restaurants.

We will be back!

So glad you enjoyed your time at Torbreck again! For its size, Lochinver does have a great selection of good places to eat, doesn't it! Thanks for the review!

Fantastic cottage, very well equiped with every thing you will need. Quite location. You can walk in to the village in 15- 20 minutes, depends if you are a fast walker. Plenty of wildlife to see, even deer in the garden at night. Really good base for sightseeing. Plenty of restaurant's in Lochinver Village and very freindly people. Remember to take some Midge Spray with you.

“Perfect location for exploring NW Scotaland”

The house is lovey, quiet and cosy. It feels like a real home and is perfectly located for exploring this part of Scotland. The kitchen is well stocked, and as avid radio listeners we really appreciated the DAB radios and great wifi.
The village of Lochinver is a 15min walk away and has a great selection of restaurants and a decent pub (The Caberfeidh). The weather was amazingly sunny and warm so we got to see the area at its best and enjoy the local beaches.

“Have stayed at several self-catering cottages in the Highlands and this one was the best of them!”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Four of us spent fantastic a week at the Torbreck Croft House for our annual fishing holiday. We've stayed at several cottages before and this one was by far the best. Very comfortable, plenty of space, generously equipped, nice mix of new and old, lovely location in stunning scenery.....you name it! Nicely out of the town for solitude but close enough for going out for meals or drinks (lots of options in Lochinver for it's size). Just a short drive from the beautiful Auchmelvich Beach too, where we dived, snorkelled and watched the seals and a whale (in the distance). Weather was too good for fishing (not complaining, honest!) but we had some nice trout off Loch Assynt. Climbed up the magnificent Quinnag too which was a day to remember. Hope to go back again soon....:-)
