Everything you could wish for in this lovely home. Fully equipped kitchen and facilities. Bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable.
Beautiful surroundings and views. Great walks around the area - our dog loved it!
Lovely place to relax in and wonderful to watch the deer and other wildlife in the garden from the comfort of the hot tub!
Great local cafe and restaurant - Peets Restaurant is particularly excellent. Lochinver Larder pies are to die for!
Very peaceful and relaxing - did not want to leave and we will definitely be back!
Many thanks again.

We stayed in Waterloo House for 1 week with our 2 children aged 5 & 3. I can't use enough adjectives to describe how perfect this holiday was. You can basically do as little or as much as you want to.
The house is beautiful decorated, with a modern yet homely feel. The 'nods' to the surroundings are perfect additions. The house was immaculate and I mean spotless. Every nook and cranny had been addressed. With having small boys who play with little cars, we even had to go under the settee, which had obviously been moved and cleaned under.
The more than adequately equipped kitchen was a pleasure to cook meals for the family in. A huge American style fridge freezer, a range cooker and hob. The boys loved sitting at the breakfast bar while I cooked their meals. And even better to top it off, a dishwasher!
Then there's the hot tub. Ben made sure this was topped up and cleaned before our arrival, it was perfect, and even on the coldest days, it was beautiful to sit in it and watch the world pass by.
The biggest plus point to this house is the view, the ever changing view of the mountains, the harbour and the little twinkling lights of Lochinver. It's mesmerising. My son sat for hours with the binoculars just watching the boats coming in and out!
We had a walk in to the village a couple of times and had some delicious meals at the Caberfeidh and Peets.
My advice to anybody contemplating visiting is just go. It took us quite a while to get there, but my goodness it was worth every minute!
We are booking again to return next summer. Unfortunately we already have our summer holiday booked or I think we'd be heading back!
This is a little gem that shouldn't be missed! Thank you to Ben for being on hand if we needed him!

Waterloo House is astonishing in almost every detail. From the location looking over the water to Lochinver, with Suilven in the distance, to the high, high quality gadgets and fittings, this is one seriously good self catering accommodation.
It was our base for a week, firstly with friends then my elderly mother in law. Ben, the owner, was very helpful and maintained regular contact, acting quickly to have a electrical glitch checked out by his sparky.
You have full use of a Netflix account, and other video devices as supplied via the free wi-fi and state of the art smart TV. There's enough storage in the American style fridge, a 6 ring Rangemaster cooker, seriously comfortable beds and more towels than you'll need. Stargazers can use the big telescope, or borrow the binoculars to search for local wildlife, such as deer, eagles and seals. And after a long day out and about, relax in the hot tub - we found this particularly relaxing, with the lights out staring at the stars - truly amazing.
One wee suggestion to Ben would be to possibly look into supplying a higher, firmer chair for any future elderly visitors (my mother in law struggled to get off the large sofa as it was a tad low for her) but that's more down to her physical needs rather than inadequate seating.
I definitely want to return as this is one of my favourite places in the world. I'd also recommend dining out at Peet's Restaurant - amazing local food.

We booked this place for friends to stay at for our wedding and what a glorious place it is. Attention to detail throughout with luxury finish. Views over Lochinver through huge glass windows and deer in the "back yard". A great base for sight seeing and also for just chilling out at. Also very friendly and excellent service from the owner Ben.

Difficult to put into words. The place looked pretty fantastic in the photos and Ben was very friendly and helpful beforehand. Then we arrived, and were even more impressed.
The location is perfect, just below access to a beautiful 5 mile hilltop walk across to Achmelvich, and within easy access to Lochinver.
The lodge was so well equipped that we could really live as comfortably as we could at home, and were wanting for nothing. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
