I have reviewed this venue before, but after today's experience felt an update necessary.
Plockton is a tourist venue, and this hotel/restaurant/pub clearly caters to that market, & for a one-off visit you won't notice it's problems.
We have been regular occasional lunch, and consistent dinner customers here for five years.
We dined in the bar, after an absence of a few months. Service was very slow, there was a marked decline in some of the food (my wife left half her "home-made" hamburger), & most of the staff appeared inexperienced, or poorly trained - requesting tomato sauce during the meal seemed to present a challenge that took excessive time to overcome! Eventually plonked on the table by a waitress annoyed at my chasing-up when it was coming.
If your visiting the place as a tourist, it's probably OK, but as a (now ex) regular I shall be switching to the PLOCKTON INN. Try it (& the beer's better).More
