It was driech (rainy-ish) outside so we came in after lunch for a hot drink. Tea was weak and disappointing. Beer-offerings looked much more enticing. Been here before many years ago and im sure it would be grand of an evening but the tea just wasnt much cop and if id used the extra hot water pot it would have been even less so. Great location, some good beer option

This family owned hotel is ok and in a great location. Food could be much better. The oatmeal herring was pretty good but the white bait was not cooked well and scallops were overly garlicky. Rooms are fine for the money.

The menu is neither inviting or exciting which is a shame given the amazing location. Apart from that - the waitress (owner?) was mildly interested in us but finally acknowledged our presence. Due to pure health reasons - not wishing to be hospitalised- my partner asked if the burger was gluten free. This IS a medical condition not a lifestyle choice. The waitress trailed off to the kitchen, returned and said that it was GF ....apart from a little breadcrumb!!!! Seriously??? He informed her that therefore it was NOT GF. For pity’s sake, please pay some attention and help your customers.

The Hotel was the only place available the night we visited - the good restaurants were fully booked and we now know why. Our loss, happily we dodged the bullet the waitress would have been happy to serve. It’s a shame as the location is beyond amazing in any weather and the local produce should (& in other places nearby does) deliver food to match the beautiful area. Message to owner - if you don’t care about your customers, find something you do care about and move on.

Room Tip: I’m only reviewing the (awful) dining experience

This hamlet is a bit out of the way but loaded with charm, blessed with one of the most picturesque settings I've ever seen. A deck in front of the Hotel right on the shore is the perfect spot for a drink or tea to watch the tides. The Hotel is itself is very clean but a bit dated. However, the dinner was quite good in a separate, quieter room with a varied menu and the pub was always packed. Be sure to take Calum's short boat ride to tour the harbour, see the spot that inspired Peter Pan's J.M. Barrie, and grab some photo ops of seals. We had to leave at sunrise to catch a flight from Inverness. All was blissfully quiet but were we greeted by one of the most magical, colourful sunrises over the mountains- this is a photographer's dream location.

Had a lovely family stay. Service was okay during meal times but could have been better. Rooms were comfortable. Food- good selection and tasty. Will probably go back especially for the stunning picturesque scenery.
