“Back to Bimini... again and again”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

I have been going to the Bimini Big Game for almost 30 years, I have seen it in the heyday, seen it fall and like a Phenix rise back up from the ashes, it is back to as good as it has ever been.

I lost touch with the Big Game a few years ago and started staying at some of the other places in Alice Town, but when it was renovated and re-opened as a Guy Harvey Outpost I was back! The facilities are great! The rooms perfect, the marina is in good shape and getting better as they were adding a floating dock for a sea plane when I was there last weekend. It is no longer affiliated with Guy Harvey Outpost, but the current management has done a great job continuing the with the same island feel and keeping the same standards. The current manager greeted us when we arrived and assured us a great stay.

Another great thing is the fishing found through Big Game, there are several bonefish guides that the hotel can book, but one of the best gems is the Carolina Gentleman a pretty 43' Post offshore tournament rigged marlin fishing charter boat that docks at the Big Game. Captain Skipper Gentry is a real professional, and therefore is booked early and must be booked before you come to Bimini or you will find that you missed out on a great Bimini fishing experience.

Bimini is a fishing, diving and party town, it is not fancy (the Big Game Club is a comfortable mix, but fancier than the town), but perfect for me! The magic to Bimini is in the raw beauty and the festive laid back style of the "real" Bahamas.

Come to Bimini, stay at the Big Game, go fishing on the Carolina Gentleman... you won't be disappointed.

We have been staying at the Big Game Club for 20 years, my 5 kids would say they grew up there. Pulling into the marina is like coming home. Every year it gets better - the management, the staff, the rooms and the food improve each time we come back for another visit. The staff is very friendly and we were told many times, "welcome back". The charm and "authentic" Bimini is what we love about the Big Game Club, and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on the island.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms were nicely renovated last year, the villas need some updating.

Traveled by boat to Big Game Club on July 19th-staying through Sunday July 22nd.....Were supposed to stay till Monday though Mother Nature decided to play with the Gulf Stream!

First time there and will most certainly not be the last! From the moment we docked we were greeted with enthusiastic help and smiles. Everyone went way out of their way to be accommodating and provide whatever help or information we needed!! Only remember one name at front desk, Jamie, though she wasn’t only one who was so gracious and helpful All the men/women on property were great……every single one of them! Never heard a complaint or anything that wasn’t greeted with a smile when I asked for something, and it was always taken care of.

The relaxed island pace and scenery was idyllic, though the fishing was awesome the catching was off, just the way nature goes sometimes. Did not diminish the experience one bit.

Always felt safe walking the streets around town, day and night.....Never any issues!!

Recommend BBGC and the Bimini experience highly!

Our stay was great at the Bimini Big Game the rooms were clean and big and the bathrooms were the same. Good water pressure and air conditioning made the room nice and cold when a break was needed after a long hot day on the water. The employees there were all great from the nice couple at the rental center to the bartenders and office staff. The location was great with in a half hour we were able to raise two blue marlin in our trolling spread one day then fish for bonefish and permit the next day. Awesome trip and hotel. Highly recommend it!

First time being at the Big Game Club in Bimini and it couldn't have been better. For anglers, this is the ultimate place to go. From taking a water taxi and the bus in South Bimini and fishing the flats for bonefish, and stalking permit right in front of the resort, to marlin fishing just 1/2 off the resort, this is an anglers paradise. The staff was extremely friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

It looks great online, But.... Don't book online as it will cost you more. If you call in and book a cottage room it is only $209 per night vs. online booking it is $239 per night. Also, by booking a cottage, keep in mind, you will need to wear flip flops as it floods your entryway in the morning and evening as the tides rise, due to the broken seawall and the run down/old dockage in front of the cottage suites. Refrigerator did not work and you will need to take your bug spray too, not for mosquitos but the ants in the rooms will carry your food away. This is not a resort, simply a rudown old hotel that tried to revive itself by adding Guy Harvey's name to it. Must be a good reason why he removed himself from the resort already..... I am familiar with the Bahamas and have learned not to expect much but the cost here is certainly not justified for anything.

Go elsewhere, South Bimini is much nicer, more affordable and much cleaner!

We just returned from a nice vacation at Big Game Club. The rooms are average, nothing fancy, but were clean and comfortable. We usually choose all inclusive resorts, so eating at Big Game was a bit pricey to me. We were a party of four and breakfast was usually $60-$75, lunch $80+ and supper $100+. I definatley recommend renting a golf cart $90 for the day and discover the island. We spent more time in town with the locals than we did at the Big Game Club. You MUST visit Sherry and Eric's which is located right next to CJ's. (CJ's had good food as well. You can eat lobster for $10 in season).Sherry's has THE BEST EVER Miami Vice's. Their Conch salad and fritters are also delecious and they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. All of the locals were extra friendly. We felt very comfortable outside the Big Game Club (unlike being in Jamaica or DR or Mexico). We rode the golf cart all the way to the other end of the island and toured the Bimin Bay Resort (which looked much nicer than Big Game) It amazed me at how many conch shells are just lying on the beach. We picked up several to bring home as a souvineer. They are literally everywhere. We went scuba diving with Davido from the Big Game Club. Diving was awesome. We dove reefs and wrecks and saw some of the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. We will definatley return to the beautiful island of Bimini in the future. We may or may not stay at Big Game Club, but will definately dive and visit Sherry and Eric again.

Room Tip: All rooms were centrally located. It is not a huge resort.
