“Rollin" on the River”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

Spending three days here on the way to Tennessee. It is a wonderful place to park. We are lucky enough to be within 50 yards of the river and can see the river traffic from the windows. Nice concrete pull-through sites with tables. The staff guides you to your spot. Trash is picked up three times a day. It is very pet friendly with good trails. Laundry is free and clean.

We spent the night at Tom Sawyer in mid-July as we began a five week vacation. I loved the park so much, we returned to it in late August as we were returning home from our vacation. Most sites have concrete pads, thus no leveling. Each site is angled to capture the best view of the Mississippi River. I loved sitting outside in the evening and watching the barge traffic pass by. Be sure and take exit 180 off of I-40; otherwise you will pass thru a seedy part of West Memphis.

This RV park has to be one of the top we have stayed at. Clean. Right on the river and they have these fishing holes where I caught a nice bass. Staff was friendly and not far from the sites in Memphis. We will stay there again.

Don't let the funky entrance deter you. This place was worth going over the river and through the woods for. Nice HUGE pull thru sites and the location on the river can't be beat. The campground hostess went out of her way to wait for our late arrival. We awoke to a parade of barges plowing up river about 30 yards away. We will definitely stay here again.

Delightful RV park excelling in location. Who can imagine being able to park a big rig and having full hook-ups w/50 amps, all within 80 feet of the mighty Mississippi? Good base for sightseeing in Memphis, if you can tear yourself from watching the river and an occasional barge passing by. Some sites are treeless in the sun, but if you get a site with a tree, that along with the breeze off the river, makes the July heat very bearable.

The park is below the levy and could flood if the river gets extremely high, so all buildings like the restrooms, laundry and office are on wheels so that they can be moved higher if there is rising water. Interesting. Also, the laundry is free!

The staff is helpful and friendly.

This is the place where the big RVs park with no problem. There is plenty of room here for everything! The only amenities are showers, toilets and free laundry and all are well maintained. There were only a couple of showers but since the majority of RVs staying here were huge, they were only shared by a few of us small RV folks.
There were no kids here as there is nothing for them to do. (If I had kids with me, I would not stay here)
The view of the Mississippi and the barges were fabulous! We had the end waterfront spot with a clear view but all of the sites were nice. Most of them had trees for shade.
While we were there, a storm blew through and took a tree down across the entrance road. A crew was there within minutes to clear it away. The owners are hardworking and ever-present.
Although West Memphis is a bit rough (understatement), there is no problem staying here. It is tucked away and across a levee.
Highly, highly recommend!!

This is a great place for either an overnite or exploring Memphis. The park is on a barge canal and there is traffic on the river all day. Cost is $35 with Good Sam for full hook up on concrete pads. No pool, but you are here for the sights in Memphis which is five minutes away. SUGGESTION. Follow their directions to the park of the interstate, don't do your GPS as it takes you through town.
