“Love this place, a must stop”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

This place is great. We love it. We drive OTR and stop here every time our route takes us through there. The Gyros can not be topped! They have a huge menu with Greek and American selections. You order at the counter but they bring the food to you. They have awesome desserts and ice cream desserts. A MUST stop! Half way stop between LA and Vegas on I-15.

“Probably Better If We Ordered Something Else”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

We stopped here for lunch on our way from Las Vegas to San Diego...I think we got there just before the lunch rush. The menu had a ton of options, but since this was a one-time stop for us, we stuck with the gyros. The meal was fine...but I could have had the same thing at any other Greek restaurant. Perhaps if we would've ordered something more unique from the menu, it would've been better.

The decor is nice, and the kids liked it...and it was better than stopping at one of the fast food restaurants in Baker. It's worth the stop.

“Not Mad for The Mad Greek”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

On our way to Death Valley The Mad Greek in Baker, CA offered an adequate refueling spot. Having researched a possible eatery between the Coachella Valley and Death Valley The Mad Greek seemed to fit the bill. Greek food...nothing to complain about...right? I had high hopes and even higher expectations. This restaurant can certainly be characterized as funky. The decor is over the top. The menu choices were vast, but the execution disappointing. I would best describe this as a unique, bording on a fast food restaurant. Next time we will buy cold drinks and enjoy a packed picnic lunch.

“Gyros at the gates of Hell .”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Literally at the edge of death valley Ca .... there is this little oasis that offers Greek food . I have been eating here for 2-3 years since we found it and sometimes travel to CA . I have read lots of mixed reviews , but , me being from NY , I find that the Gyro is really good . A bit pricey , but it's in the desert ..... they do offer commercial drivers a discount with your CDL, and have a loyalty card that they punch when you go there . Also, be patient , mostly Spanish folks in there , and like today yes you to death and don't do as you ask them . But it is still worth it . We order 2 Gyro plates, and take 2 on the road for the next day . Also , check out the baklava and other sweets !!

“Treat in the desert”
Reviewed 23 March 2014 via mobile

We were passing through on a motorcycle trip to Death Valley and when we arrived in baker California we saw bikes parked here. This place was way better than we expected in the middle of the desert. Check it out. Real Greek food!! Great desserts!
