We first discovered Mimi's about 6 years ago. We drive to Las Vegas and Laughlin, once or twice a year, always overnight in Bakersfield and never miss dropping in to Mimi's both going down and on the return.
The service is generally efficient and friendly, the decor is pleasant and the food is always tasty. The prices are reasonable. It does seem like the portions have decreased in the past few years, likely to lower costs to remain competitive.
We have always one issue when eating here. If you have a salad or appetizer before your meal, the main course will almost always arrive before you have finished it. When we arrive after a day on the road, we like to relax and not feel rushed. If we tell our server to slow it up, they will comply but if you forget to ask expect a fast meal.
