“Cozy, Family Friendly, Close to Bear Valley Skiing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2011

Our family of 5 enjoyed a long weekend at Tamarack Pines during the winter. The accommodations were cozy and very comfortable, and we loved being able to prepare meals. We were close to Bear Valley downhill and x-country skiing. The kids really enjoyed the stash of saucers and sleds that they used for snow play right next to the inn.

Great re-model. Cozy and comfortable in the winter. We like the large dining table and cooking facilities. Very close to skiing, sledding and other outdoor activiities. Perfect for family vactions, we will visit again!

We stayed at Tamark this summer and intend to re-book this winter. It's warm and cozy, convenient for making big dinners for the family and close to lots of outdoor activities. I love the remodeling!

This home-style accommodation is conveniently located close to the highway and has plenty of different style rooms, for all different needs and groups sizes. The remodeled kitchen is huge and includes a cozy living room and dining room area for big groups. If you don’t want to use the general area kitchen, you can use the one in your room, which is also well equipped.
If you go there in summer, you have also a wonderful backyard area that connects to lots of hiking trails.

Room Tip: most rooms are upstairs

This is a great place for a family. Convenient to the ski area and lodge, but far enough away when you want to be far away. My family and I stay there in the Winter and Summer. The rooms have their own kitchen, so we did not constantly have to go to the restaurant. We like to cook our own meals sometimes. Skiing in winter and in summer, it was just a great place to enjoy the quiet, rest, read and hike right outside the back door. I know I will go back again.

We rented the whole downstairs "The Bear's Lair". We were expecting rustic but this is an old rambling mess of a place. Two sheets of plywood was the counter top. Circuits kept tripping and the mtce people had to go to someone else's room to re-set them! Wires sticking out of walls, ceilings - very unsafe for kids. Beds not made - just what you want to do after driving for hours to get there. Couch had about 1/2 bag of dog food behind the cushions - not kidding! The cleaning crew (who doesn't clean your room until after you leave) would routinely walk through our unit to get to the locked laundry. jacuzzi didn't work - not that we wanted to sit in the garage in a hot tub with all the wiring issues. No cell service. There was very limited parking (5 spaces); locals would come and park so they could cross country ski out the back. On the upside the kitchen utensils etc was well stocked and there was sledding out the backdoor.

Great place to stay close to Bear Ski resort. It is quiet and close. It was a quick drive to the mountian, and set in a very pretty location. Easy to find right off the highway. We had Unit 22 and our son loved the bed and we had a great time.
