the restaurant is situated near the corner of university and san pablo. there is available parking on the street. it is operated by the family named Seelam. i have yet to try ordering from the menu during the 6 times i have dined there, so this review is about the traditional indian buffet offered on fridays, saturdays, and sundays.
having tried many indian styles on repetitive occassions in myanmar, brunei, indonesia, thailand, and of course here in the u.s., priya indian cuisine restaurant best exemplifies the different regional styles with pungent, aromatic, no holds barred, traditional flavors through its authentic sauces. if you are not familiar with genuine indian cuisine, i would suggest that you stick to indian restaurants catering to the american palette. during my visits, there have always been indian nationals dining there. when you finally accustomize your tastes to the point where you want to explore and take indian cuisine to a higher level, you must give priya a try.
there has always been ample table space during the times i have visited. reservations and credit cards are accepted. 'Pavali' and 'Nitin', sister and brother, are your waitstaff.
a nice variety of traditional indian beers is offered while free flowing fresh, hot nan (bread) prepared in their tandoori accompanies all meals.
