enjoyed a very nice evening there with great service and atmosphere, good cocktails and generally nice handling of the drinking staff, the charcuterrie was ok but the mixed grill was under average. good desserts and poor espresso. they need to improve the food period.

Food was ok, flavors were under-represented so could have been bolder. Menu has limited veg options, but reasonable ones. Service was good. Location was good as well.

A few months ago, this restaurant peaked. We had a series of 3-4 amazing meals over the course 1-2 months. Tonight was a total disappointment. Everything that we ordered was a miss. To top things off, they left the front door open on a really cold night—my wife had to wear her North Face jacket to stay comfortable. Won't go back.

Well, we just got back from the restaurant. Maybe it was the embarrassing loss that Cal experienced today from USC that created a pall in the place but it played out in a really negative way. We're visiting from Seattle and are pretty down to earth and expected a lot more than we got. The food was tasty and interesting. As always, the server was dependent on the bartender(s) to get the drinks and wine out to our table and we had our appetizers long before the drinks arrived. Really bad form. It seemed a bit more like a cluster--- and for over $300 we could have eaten in the finest of restaurants on the West Coast for the four of us. Overly hyped. Overly expensive. Perfect for privileged white folks who need to know the name of the grass-fed pig that they're eating.

We've been there several times in the past and liked it. Recently, it was mixed, both the food and the service. The house-made charcuterie was fantastic, all of it, along with the pickled vegetables that came with it. The braised beef was dry, though.
And surprisingly the service was inattentive. Drinks took a long time to arrive, the waiter didn't seem to be paying attention, so it took a long while to order a second drink. I don't like the hoveriingly-attentive style at all, but this was at the other end of the spectrum.
Maybe it was just an off night.
