Been to many weddings her! Beautiful when the roses are in bloom. it is so lovely and relaxing to wander through the garden taking in the perfume and the view ( alone or with a loved on). A true Berkeley original.

The short walk to this Municipal Rose Garden was challenging, as it was mostly uphill from our B&B! It is worth the hard walk, the roses were so beautiful and extensive variety! The landscape around this rose garden is an amphitheater, with "layers"/steps on a sloping hill. We enjoyed the nice garden, but at this time, there is construction activities, so some walk ways are cordoned off from the public. The garden looks well "manicured" and nicely maintained, the garden fragrance is really evident! To think it is in the center of Berkeley!

This is such a beautiful place right in the heart of Berkeley. So many beautiful roses. Just walk around and take in God's beauty. There are a few steps to climb but just pace yourself. The first time I went there it was earlier in the year and the flowers were a little less burnt out. Suggest you go late April or early May.

Well cared for gardens traverse multiple levels. Many places to sit and relax. Such a beautiful place to sit and meditate or leisurely walk around and let your spirit drink in the sweet sights and sounds and smells of nature. So close yet you will feel worlds away from city life.

Whether you're partial to roses or not, you can't beat the views from the Berkeley Rose Garden. It's the perfect place in the city for catching the sunset with spectacular views of the Bay including the Golden Gate Bridge. Of course, in season, the roses are breathtaking. But it's also a good starting point for a walk up Euclid St. to Grizzly Peak. It's not a flat walk, but not steep either, and a wonderful way to catch some of the architectural gems of houses in Berkeley. You'll also encounter a number of additional open spaces with no houses blocking spectacular views of the Bay including Mt. Tamalpais. It's totally a "Wow!" experience.
