“Location Location Location!”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

We (family of 4) recently stayed at the Beverly Terrace and enjoyed it. The main attraction is the location, in Beverly Hills, right on Santa Monica Boulevard! Plenty of touristy places in the vicinity, including Rodeo Drive, Sunset strip, Melrose Ave. etc. apart from Santa Monica Blvd. itself, with its restaurants etc. within walking distance. A bus stop for the Starline hop-on hop-off tour was also close by (near the Four Seasons hotel), which helped.

The room was a bit cramped -- ours was a double room with two queen-size beds, with very little space left over! But it was fine for a 2-night stay, and we had free wi-fi and breakfast included. The in-house restaurant (Trattoria Amici, Italian) was very nice indeed -- quaint setting and good food. The hotel has a quaint little inner courtyard for lounging about. If you're driving in, there's guest parking as well. The parrot in the hotel lobby was a bit loud when it was squawking but sweet when it was whistling :-)

The hotel doesn't seem to have elevators, so I had to drag my suitcases up two flights of stairs. But otherwise, no complaints.

Room Tip: Avoid a room on the side abutting Santa Monica blvd. -- it can be noisy throughout the night due to...

I recently stayed at the Beverly Terrace for three nights, while attending an academic conference in Los Angeles. It's true that the rooms are small by the standards of today's large chain hotels, but not by those of European or Japanese hotels. So, ask before booking if, for example, you're counting on space for a roll-away or a crib. But if you're traveling alone or as a couple, do not hesitate to stay here! The rooms are charming, and the hotel is built around a central patio with very attractive and comfortable seating where you can enjoy breakfast or just hanging out. There is also a roof deck if you want to get sun. The on-site restaurant is nothing to write home about, but it's perfectly good. The continental breakfast features fresh breads, muesli, yogurt, cereal, and excellent coffee and juice. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent. You can walk to cafes, restaurants, and high-end shopping. I look forward to staying here on my next trip to LA.

My husband and I stayed in room 17 for 5 nights last week - we found this hotel in amongst all the huge price tags in Beverly Hills for a very reasonable price indeed!!! It's a beautiful hotel very clean and boutiquey - nice touch with the fresh homemade cookies at the reception every morning - the rooms were very nice and spotlessly clean with excellent wifi - our only complaint would b that our room was more than a little noisy being on the ground level in the courtyard - could hear other guests going for breakfast or dragging there cases past our room, also the cleaners with there sweeping brush under our window- it's a shame to say it did wake us but at least we never slept past breakfast lol!! Overall would definitely stay here again as long as we could request a higher room - very nice hotel indeed!!!!!

Thank you so much for the review! We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay and are sorry for the ill-timed wake up call. We will definitely be able to give a room on the second floor the second time around. We look forward to your next stay so that we can make it up to you.

My partner and I stayed here in July/August 2013 for three nights. We both thought this hotel was fantastic for the price in Beverly Hills. We booked the hotel without too many expectations due to the price but were really pleasantly surprised. We would stay here again and recommend to anyone needing a good base in Beverly Hills/West Hollywood area.

The rooms were an okay size but were very clean and modern. The bathroom was actually quite big for the size of the room. One of my favourite aspects was the free breakfast in the morning. I sat out in the sun on an outdoor sofa with some pretty good muesli/granola and yoghurt whilst my partner slept in. It is continental and free so don't expect a deluxe gourmet hot breakfast. The hotel itself has modern charm and is quiet. We didn't have any issues with noise from neighbouring rooms. The bed was really comfortable and we used the computer with internet in the lobby a few times to book tickets.

We can't comment on the location getting around as we had friends who picked us up and dropped us back everyday. We needed a hotel close to them but wanted to stay in Beverly Hills. There didn't seem to be too much around in terms of dining, sites where the hotel was located. It was a fairly desolate street. We would recommend having a car in LA but we didn't explore the public transport at all. Everything that you would want to see is really spread out ie Santa Monica, Venice Beach, The Grove, Rodeo Drive, Six Flags, Universal Studios. I couldn't imagine wasting precious time on public transport if you were only in LA for a few days... This hotel was a great base to explore LA.

We had no need for any service but the front desk was nice upon check in and check out. Plus I grabbed a few of their mints each day!

The Beverly Terrace Hotel is a small boutique hotel right near Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. The room was not that big but very cozy and functional. Very big windows made the room very bright. It had a mini refrigerator and the WiFi was good enough. BTW, there is a Ralph’s Supermarket down the street, very good location. We did love it. The bathroom was sort of a small. The breakfast was simple, nothing to remember. They have a small parking ($10 per day) but with a valet parking, you always have place to park. Is not that cheap but in that location, you can beat that price. The reason we choose the hotel is the location. Easily, you can find cheaper hotels downtown LA but not in WeHo. Very safe place to walk and the hotel is walking distance from all the bars in WeHo. If you’re looking for a great time bar-hopping close by, this is the place to stay.

great place to stay in beverly for a good price. Stayed there for a week, here are pros and cons:
PROS: great location, good prices (comparison to what is around), cheapest car parking you'd find in a hotel in the area, clean, nice interior garden (used to be a swimming pool, deck area now)
CONS: in need of improvement is the breakfast, was the same every single day throughout our 7 days stay, no variation, same muffins, same bread and jam each day, rooms are quite small and bathroom could have a proper door.
Overall, after a lot of research, our stay and discussions with friends that live in LA I am confident to say that this is one of the best places to stay in the area in terms of value for money. Good location, clean and quiet, spot on.

You got it exactly right! Our location is our biggest advantage against other hotels. We're glad that we were able to provide a quiet and comfortable stay for you. We do try to change up the breakfast item on a weekly basis. I'm sorry that you weren't able to try any alternatives. We'll make it up to you next time! Thank you!

BEVERLY TERRACE HOTEL was the perfect place for our family to stay during the four-day celebration of our son and his bride's wedding. (Ten of us occupied six rooms). Formerly a 1950's motel, it has been transformed into a "boutique hotel" which reminded my husband and me of the ryads we stayed in while traveling in Morocco. The rooms are built around a central courtyard where we enjoyed breakfast and just "hanging out". The pre-wedding dinner for seventeen was held in the hotel's Italian restaurant (Trattoria Amici--very good pasta dishes; excellent salads and desserts). Snacks (the pizzas were popular) and a few other meals were ordered from the restaurant to be eaten in the courtyard. One evening we brought sushi take-out from a local Japanese restaurant. The restaurant graciously provided plates as well as glasses for the wine from a nearby BevMo. There is a nice view of the Hollywood Hills from the rooftop sundeck. Inexpensive on-site parking. Many shops, stores, cafés, restaurants, and clubs are within walking distance. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The rooms are small by US standards but we found most of them quite adequate. All are tastefully de...
