“Simply wonderful!”

The place was spotless, very attractive and the owner tried to think of every detail to make their hotel a top quality experience! Furniture was beautiful, bedding smelled so nice, bathroom was spotless, kitchen had everything you could need! Lovely grounds--tetherball was a hoot! Not the typical Big Bear stay for sure!!! I recommend it to anyone!

We've stayed in Big Bear one time prior over at a different cabin which was a bit more rustic which was fine since we were staying with another couple. This year we decided to go on our own for a couple nights, much needed! We found Bay Meadows through a long search of lodging companies offered in the Big Bear Area. The cabins were BEAUTIFUL! We chose cabin 102 which is one of the updated ones, had a FULL kitchen (including cutlery, nice Corelle plates and bowls, wine glasses, pans, ETC.), a living area with a flat screen tv, fireplace and a pull out sofa (which was so comfy we ended up sleeping on it 2/3 nights! The bedroom was small but perfect with a queen bed, a nightstand with an alarm clock, a small closet and a full shelving unit. The bathroom had wonderful amenities including a little vanity kit (I'm talking q tips, cotton balls and emery boards ladies). The furnishings were modern and beautiful. We cooked breakfasts and one dinner and we saved quite a bit of money thanks to the kitchen! The property manager Kevin was so kind and helpful! We will definitely be returning to this location for next year. No doubt. It was the perfect place for us to rest our heads after long days of fishing and roaming around the Village. The ONLY con which was a slight annoyance was that we had a little ant problem in the kitchen area. Upon check in, we were warned not to leave snacks on the counter due to the fact that pests would show up. However, they were present once we got into the room. It didn't bother us much, we just figured the previous guests didn't follow the rules. We just purchased a bottle of Clorox clean up to clear them out. Not a big deal at all! Thank you for the perfect stay <3!!!

Room Tip: The updated cabins are WONDERFUL. I believe they're 101-112.

We stayed at the Bay Meadow Resort June 14-15 2014, we had a great time.
The Resort area is super clean, very safe and the cabin we stayed in was wonderful all amenities were excellent.
The staff was super attentive and very helpful, not only with the resort services but in directions.

Stayed here over the Memorial Weekend which was very busy in Big Bear....upon entering the room we were not sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised by how clean and upgraded all of the amenities were, I especially loved the large bathroom with wood flooring, the whole room was just "Charming". We stayed in Unit 106. Everything you need or can think of is already in the kitchenette. perfect if you would like to save money and bring your own groceries. We will be back again and I can't wait...we love Big Bear!

After taking the advice of our Anaheim based cousin, we settled on the recommendation of the Bay Meadows Resort. My wife called to make the reservation and spoke with Tony who was very friendly and open to fielding questions we had about the accommodations. When we arrived we were cheerfully greeted by Ava who made sure we knew what was available to do in the area. When we got to the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the up to date accommodations. The cabin was so warm and cozy. There was a kitchenette, which would be great for a longer stay. We had a great time and the price was better than some of dumpy places around Big Bear.

We stayed during christmas holidays of 2013. This is our first time staying there and generally we stay in big name chain hotels. Looking at the pictures it was good but I wasn't sure how old are pictures and how would it look now. I must say it looked slightly better than the pictures. Internet speed (free wifi) was one of the fastest I have experienced in hotels. On both the nights we requested to use the outside fire-pit, which is in the middle of all cabins. Guys just lit it up for us and it was really fun experience there. Kids enjoyed playing teatherball during the day. There is good open space in between rooms away from road for kids to play. It was less than a mile from the village and ~half a mile from Alpine slide area. Kitchen was very useful especially with kids. We were three families in 3 different cabins and enjoyed eating together every night in one of the cabin. Housekeeping comes daily just like any other hotel. One thing to watch for is do not use fireplace and heating at the same time. Small downside was that heating is only in living room, there is a subtle temperature difference between living room and bedroom so may be raise temperature by 2 degrees at night, as the thermostat is in living room. Mattresses and bed were very very comfortable. Both the rooms have closets. There is a free ice vending machine. Guys at the front desk were very polite and helpful. Overall great experience and would love to stay there again.

We stayed here during fall (off-season) and Big Bear itself was quiet and great time to relax.
I liked our room, it was very clean and we got a full kitchen with our package - homemade breakfast every day, saved us some $$.

The "cabin" itself wasn't very cabiny at all, inside and out. The only thing that made it feel cozy was the fire burning fireplace in our room. Our room was very clean though with upgraded furniture. Otherwise concrete all around the area, and no wooden log decor anywhere inside or outside. The hostess was nice and gave us some good eatery recommendations.

Overall, I personally wouldn't stay here again. It just isn't all I was hoping for. But it may work for some. Beware of hidden fees when you checkout though.
