“Good Service Bad Wifi”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2014

Service at check in was awesome! Room was clean and a little cramped, no table to play a board game. just 4 stools at the counter to eat. Cramped kitchen but has all the essentials. Wifi was horrible and I was only on the 2nd floor. None of the 4 in my party were able to connect even inside the office lounge!!! They only allow 1 parking pass. Great location though!

We went up to Big Bear for the Memorial Weekend. This place is nothing fancy, but just a place for a quick weekend get away.

Our first impression wasn't so great. It looks like an old apartment complex and kind of weird looking. The office is in a room that is kind of dark, where is also their activity room with an old computer, pool table, small kitchen, and a couple tables and chairs. The staff, however, were very friendly and we truly felt welcomed. We got there a bit early and had to wait for about 20 minutes, but they made every effort to get our room ready as soon as possible.

The room that we had was the last one of the complex, way in the back with windows looking out to the woods (too bad that there's no balcony.). We were on the third floor and there's no elevator, so we had to drag everything up the wooden stairs, which was a bit hard for us old folks. However, the room itself was not bad. It looks much nicer than the pictures online. We had the one-bedroom. Both living room and bedroom have wood burning fire places and there are two bathrooms. There's a small kitchen with a counter and a few tall stools, but too small for a dinning table.

The room was fairly clean, except that the artificial flowers were a bit dusty. Their internet also wasn't too great. It was disconnected as soon as the office was closed. The biggest problem that we had was that there were a lot of kids running back and forth the third floor and it was really loud, especially that the building is made out of wood. We could not call the office because it was closed. However, when we complained about it the next day, the office staff assured us that they would take care of it and they did, and we had pretty quiet time for the rest of our weekend.

This is an OK place to stay.

We stayed here the end of April/beginning of May.

What I liked most about Snow Lake: Our suite (207) was very, very clean, spacious; 20-25 minutes stroll to the village; the staff was friendly and informative; we arrived quite late and Nicholas was there to greet us. Thank you!

What wasn't the greatest: Parking - the best spots are across from the office - the rest seem a bit tight; wireless internet connection was too weak to reach our suite; if you're taking a shower, be sure no one else is using hot or cold water or flushing the toilet! Ha!

While this is an older place, it was charmingly a hodgepodge of upgraded items, a kitchen stocked with dining-cooking-bake wares, gadgets, cleaning supplies, and everything was functioning properly. We brought groceries and mostly dined in, but we also ventured to the office for the continental breakfast and waffle breakfast offered (2 separate days). If we stay here again, I'll skip those.

I give it a 4 out of 5 for being so clean!

Our one bedroom unit on the third floor- back building away from main blvd. was quiet and very clean. The condo had a 1970 decor - with a mountain theme--- The kitchen has laminate counters, all appliances expected and full refrigerator. The stove is gas with an oven and has microwave above the stove.. the utensils are stainless steel rather than a plastic which I like - as these are safer with food (less chemicals) There is no dining table, just a kitchen bar seating for 4- the dinnerware is Corell, white with glasses and adequate tableware.. Glass bowls for serving. Full set of salt and pepper shakers. Coffee is enough for about 4 days both decaf & caffeinated. Black tea available with powdered creamer and white sugar & artificial sugar....One bedroom with a queen bed and TV and room large enough for side chair and closet. The first bathroom is off this bedroom with shower and tub. The second bathroom is next the living room. There is a fireplace in both the bedroom and living room- the fireplaces are stone up to the high ceiling.. The entry way is tiled and has hooks which would be great coming home after skiing for your gear. We visited in April and nice weather and did not use the fireplaces. There is a window in the living room viewing pine trees and distant cottages.
The window in the bedroom looks over the hallway-- No patios on the third floor.. Also stairs and no elevator- so with elevated of 7,000 feet need to be able to walk three flights of stairs.. Although the staff will help you if need with your luggage.
The Staff and reception desk, housekeeping and maintenance staff are very helpful, cheerful and professional in meeting with all our requests. There is daily housekeeping... The TVs both have DVD's and a good selection are free from front desk- including "Lincoln" which just got Academy Award this year 2013!
The spa whirlpool and swimming pool are clean and neat- and functioned well. There are Barbecues on the first floor... Daily activities include games and movie presentations and chocolate cookies on the first day.
This would be fine for families and relaxing by pool or in condos...

There is grocery stores, tourist village and other stores within a half mile..

We enjoyed our week in April 2013

Room Tip: Ask for back area- if you want really quiet area Lots of steps to 3rd floor units-

My family and I just returned from our short getaway to Big Bear Lake for skiing/snowboarding and we're very pleased with our stay at the Snow Lake Lodge. We booked a great weeknight deal through their website. It was SO good, that we even booked 2 rooms. These rooms were pretty spacious and offered many nice amenities: close to ski resort, full kitchen(fully equipped), 2 bathrooms in each unit, flat-screen tv's w/DVD players-just to name a few. The staff and front desk were very friendly and helpful. They even had daily activities for guests to enjoy during their stay.
We would definitely stay here again the next time we plan another local ski trip.

The room was clean and well-kept. Our heater worked well one night (though it was annoyingly loud) and did not work the next. There was a drunk man hanging out in the parking lot who fell over into our car. The staff was pleasant, but not particularly helpful when we asked for restaurant suggestions. We liked having fireplaces in both rooms. The bed (a king) was comfortable. It was a short drive to dinner locations, hiking, and grocery shopping, but there did not seem to be much near the hotel. The continental breakfast was not worth the time. They only have enough parking for one car per room.

Beautiful and comfortable log cabin style lodge. The rooms are always clean and decorated very nicely. The rooms have beautiful hand made quilts made on the premises by the owners. Each room has different things painted very tastefully on the walls and the level of detail and beauty are unmatched. Some rooms have a juccuzzi tub for relaxing after a hard day of playing. The prices are great and comfort is even better!
