“Nice resort, but be prepared...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

The resort and unit are beautiful, but...it feels like Timeshare hell. When we arrived after a long drive, we were tired, but were pleased with the appearance of this report and had smiles on our faces. That didn't last long though. Upon check-in, one of the the sales reps asked us if we wanted to attend an owner's meeting. We politely told her no, and gave her our reasons She asked again. We said no again. She persisted and told us she'd follow-up on the phone to see if we had changed our minds, again we said no for a 3rd time and asked her not to call. She called as promised the next day and my wife answered the phone. Again she asked if we wanted to attend the owner's meeting, and we said no again. The following morning (our 2nd and last morning) another rep called and asked if we wanted to attend an owner's meeting, and offered additional compensation. This rep acknowledged she knew we were in the process of checking out, but asked anyway. Are you kidding me? Really, how stupid is that? Asking about an owner's meeting while we were in the process of packing to get checked out on time? There is just no excuse for that! We told her we were extremely dissatisfied with the constant badgering, as it had become harassment. She apologized at that point, but we told her we would be honest and write this negative comment. The constant badgering is ridiculous. It feel's like a shake-down. This is the way WorldMark / Wyndham treats their owners. If somebody says no once, that should be the end of it. WorldMark / Wyndham seems more interested in trying trying to bilk people out of their hard-earned money to the point of refusing to listen to them to the point of harassment. Traveler beware! Dissatisfied owners.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms being worked on and renovated. We were near one, and there was noise during the...

We just came back from Worldmark at Big Bear. We stayed one night in a one bedroom suite. The room was very clean and spacious and have everything you need to feel like home. We went there right after the snow arrive the days before. It was great place to spend family time there. Staffs were friendly. It was close to Snow summit and close to restaurants. We will go back again.

The first time I stayed here 3 years ago, I thought my extended family would love it here. We booked a 3 bed/2 bath and had a fun time. We stayed in building 13, unit 227. It was newly renovated. The bathrooms had plenty of space. The king bed was very comfortable. There are TVs in each of the bedrooms. All the rooms were nice and cozy. The fireplace added to the ambiance. We brought food to cook enough for 5 nights even though we stayed only 2 nights. We made use of the grill in the patio. Note it's gas, no need to bring charcoal as we did. The stove even though it's electric worked really well. The recreation hall was enjoyed by the family, babies, young and old. There are arcade games, air hockey, pool and pingpong tables. Bring lots of quarters or singles. There's a change machine. I think there is a TV and available movies as well. Of course we made use of the hot tub. Because of the season, the swimming pools were closed. There are tennis courts and a basketball court to shoot hoops. Good place for family quality time.

We spent 3 nights at this property. I have to say that it was comfortable.
Our unit was recently upgraded so I can't say how the other units are but this one was nice.
We hit the hot tub and the pool as well as some local businesses.
I would recommend this property if you are heading to Big Bear.

We just got back from our RCI timeshare exchange to Worldmark in Big Bear located off Fox Farm Road which is a very good location. We were 2 adult couples. Us and my parents visiting from Germany. We had reservations for a 2 bedroom condo and I asked for a newly renovated unit. We had #148 downstairs in Bldg 22 and we really liked our renovated unit. They did a really good job renovating. Our condo was large, modern with a rustic touch. The decor was really our style. Fun framed vintage skiing photos, very nice furniture with an organic touch. Everything was provided, really good kitchen and supplies like coffee, tea, spices, salt & pepper, dish soap etc. One bedroom had a large King bed and attached modern bathroom with shower. The second bedroom had 2 single beds which we don't like since we are a married couple. Wish they would have some units more geared towards adult couples traveling together and not just for families with kids. Each bedroom had a flatscreen TV and there was another in the living room above the gas fireplace. The second bathroom was across our single bed room with bathtub shower. Attractive kitchen with island, living room, dining area corner with modern dark wood dining table and very cool lamp. Lots of windows and a patio with table for 4 and a gas BBQ. We were facing the nice large 20 person hot tub which we used several times. Everything was super clean and they called us the next morning to ask if everything was okay and stopped by after the second day to bring more toilet paper or anything else we might need. Really nice service.Building maintenance is excellent and the grounds are kept very well. We liked that all condos are in many alpine looking buildings spread nicely apart around nice grounds with pine trees, a newly built Romanian Mansion, another large hot tub, a large outdoor pool with 2 more hot tubs, tennis courts, horse shoes, big building where they offer the activities, pool tables, games, fitness room, fire place etc.
Friendly and quick check-in and out and helpful, informative stuff. We got there late on a Friday night after work and they told us which restaurants would be still open for a 10 PM dinner and gave us a 10% coupon. There is Stater Brothers and Vons plus a bunch of other stores very close by. We went to the Oktoberfest and that was nice and close as well. Easy access via car to all the hiking trails and discovery center over on the Fawnskin side of the lake. We will come back for sure and hopefully for a long ski weekend.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs unti and will be asking for upstairs next time due to noice from above. There wa...

We booked a week at the resort, and enjoyed our stay. However we were disappointed that the fireplace did not work, and the spa across from our unit was over chlorinated. We called the a maintenance technician on the fireplace & they came right out, unfortunately they didn't have any replacement parts on hand (all week) that the unit could be fixed, so come our disappointment each evening, and especially Wed. and Thur. when the Big Bear area got its first snow, and we didn't have a working fireplace. According to the maintanceman they had several other units with the same problem, and part were on order. As for the chlorine, we all were itching even after showering.

Room Tip: We use timeshares internationally and are accustomed to being pampered while on vacation. However e...

This was my first time to this worldmark at big bear. Luckily ours a newly renovated unit. Some sliding doors did not work but was quickly taken care of. It's a nice relaxing location for a quick break. The staff was helpful and courteous and we all loved our stay.
