A modern building, where the bedroom windows open only 100mm. An exterior temperature of 22C produces unbearable heat in second floor rooms facing the sun. A building contractor in an adjacent room said to me 'If a cell in a nick was this hot, you could sue the bastards for a breach of your human rights !' I assumed he knew what he was talking about. I decided not to sue, but to ask for a full refund. Haven't had it yet.

Stayed here for two nights for friend's wedding. Check in was slow and awkward, man on the desk didn't seem to have a clue. Eventually got our key and breakfast pass. Got into our first floor room. Unbelievably hot, no air con and windows only opened so far due to security fittings which I can understand. Room very grubby, bed frame filthy and dirt/dust everywhere. Remote control had been through the wars as back was missing with batteries exposed. Shower was more like a dripping hose and bathroom was just as grubby as the rest of the room. Nice smashed tile behind the bathroom door as well. Difficult first nights sleep due to unbearable heat and noisy drunks who were staying there for the Epsom Derby. Breakfast was shocking, especially for £7.95. Fruit juices were like drinking syrup, sausages tasted cheap, choice was limited. Croissants and muffins kept in a big tuppaware box which didn't look very professional. Good cereal selection though. Absolutely no comparison to premier inn breakfasts in both choice and quality. Second night stay was not any better although we did find out through another guest that fans were avaliable. However, the fans were so small they were a total waste of time. From reading other reviews the hotel are clearly aware of the temperature issue but aren't very proactive in making their guests comfortable. I haven't stayed in a travel lodge for years because they are so awful and this stay was definitely through necessity rather than choice. Avoid if at all possible and try to find a premier inn although the nearest one to here is quite expensive.

When you book at Travelodge, you know what to expect. Basic well priced rooms which are clean and in good locations with excellent service. I found that the services around this Travelodge were slightly limited although the Rendezvous Cafe down the road made up for this.

If you stay in this hotel, take a fan. The rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are very uncomfortable due to the heat as no air con and windows limited due to understandable safety measures. Hence we had very little sleep for the 2 nights we were there. Also,if you staying at the weekend, dont attempt to eat in the restaurant in the evening as understaffing meant we waited nearly 3 hours to receive our meal at 930pm!!
Otherwise,rooms comfortable,value for money.

A clean and tidy Travelodge, fine for a budget option. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and breakfast was adequate and well cooked. On a very busy road, so book a back room. They should provide hand soap at the very least.

There is a whole list of issue with our recent stay at this travelodge. My husband stays at hotels all around the world and admitted that this was by far the worst for customer care. We arrived to rooms that were swelteringly hot. Had to sleep with window open and that still didn't cool. Kept our 8 month old daughter up all night. then on the Sunday morning we were awoken at 7am by drilling. The plastic water cups they give you had been crushed after being used by our daughter so we left it in room to be replaced when we came back on the second night, they had just straightened cup and put it back in bathroom. However the worst part was that we had no way of chilling milk for our daughter and thought as they did breakfasts they may allow us to purchase half a cup of milk. However, the woman was very unhelpful said they were not allowed to and would not help us at all!!! They said we had to buy the whole breakfast at over £7 in order to get a small glass of milk for our 8 month old daughter!!!! Disgusting!!!

Room Tip: Ask for bottom floor room, my sister in laws room was much cooler.
