Jack's is a fantastic little restaurant. My family always eats here when we visit the area. The French toast is amazing. I brought my husband home a peach pie and he said it was the best pie he had ever eaten.

This place was recommended by a fellow fisherman so we stopped in for dinner. What a surprise! We had the Country Fried Steak dinner and it was excellent. The house salad was cold and crisp and the hot brownie sundae was delicious! Next time we'll try and catch breakfast there.

It's good travel food. Good soups, good pies, good breakfasts. The beef stew is good, the blueberry pie was good, the French toast the next morning was good, ditto pancakes, eggs, etc. All of this is with good service (nothing deluxe, of course) and a very, very modest price.

Oh, and their bread is yummy!

My guess is that many people who will eat here are doing so after spending some time backpacking, fishing, or even at Burning Man. That may have contributed to my fondness for this restaurant, but that aside, the breakfast I had was actually really good under any circumstances. Went with my standard combo of scrambled eggs, bacon, and something off the griddle (french toast this time). Eggs were not excellent, but above average; bacon was quite good; French toast was definitely the highlight. My brother had the ham steak and loved it.

If you're looking for a good breakfast, don't pass this place up.

Not a chain. Picturesque frontier American decor. Just what you'd expect in a small-town diner. Good-sized dinner portions at a reasonable price. Very nice service. Big glass of iced tea and a pitcher of water left at the table. Would come back.
