We were on our way to Mammoth on a business trip and needed a place to stay for the night. The rates were the best I could find on short notice for 2 queen beds. The beds were comfy and the room was clean, but looked like it had been remodeled half way. The phone in the bathroom reminded me of 1989. The room did have a small fridge and a microwave, which is nice.
The location was good: close to town and on the road to the fishing lakes up the hill. I was there during the high season, so I expected to pay more and have limited availability in town. The clerk was friendly. The free breakfast was pretty standard: waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee. If I was looking for basic accommodations on a limited budget I'd stay there again.
We are on our way to Lake Tahoe and I made a reservation for an overnight stay in Bishop, California. The hotel is as old as the hills. Our room was dark and dingy. Beds had old mattresses. Do not stay here. Paid $130 plus tax. Not a good value.
Made reservation 3 weeks in advance was given rate with AARP discount for one week stay.Upon checking in Young man Devon gave me another price $150.00 more than quoted .after lengthy argument he said I could go elsewhere if I wanted ,he knew all hotels booked during that week. So I paid in cash for one week.then had to demand a receipt for money given to him. Got checked in unhappily went to dinner ,at dinner I received a call from my bank that someone was trying to charge my visa for the amount I had just paid hotel, bank wanted to know if this was a fraudulent charge I said yes and they put a hold on the card Visa said it was Days inn trying to make the charge. I got back to hotel went to office told woman at desk the problem she hollered upstairs to her nephew who had checked me in he came out they argued in a foreign language then she said the charge did not go through so there was no problem I said it was because I stopped it.she just kept saying we have no problem over and over. I called him a thief. The whole stay was a nightmare. Had to ask daily for soap ,towels with no holes, coffee. Air conditioner sounded like a train. Bed was good ,bedding was shabby. No extra toilet paper had to ask. If you have a truck parking awful not enough spaces for rooms.laundry in parking garage very dirty but desperate to use. Would never stay again!
Hotel was ok to just sleep for the night but had to wait for 40 minutes to check out due to no Manager on duty or any worker form of life being available at the front desk. I still have 9 hours to drive home and someone who cares should always be at that front desk! We will NOT stay here again nor recommend it to anyone!!
