I was driving north from San Francisco and looking for a crab sandwich, forgetting it was Easter Sunday and most everything was closed. Fisherman's Cove was open and overflowing with people. They were polite and efficient and delivering food quickly. As I waited for my food and watched, I didn't see any unhappy customers.
The chowder was not the usual thick, sometimes gloppy stuff. It was thinner and had more clams in it than I have ever found in a chowder. It was also well-seasoned, had more flavor and was delicious. The crab sandwich had a good amount of crab, but was neither great nor bad. I love BBQ'd oysters and will try some they next time I go through there, but there were too many people waiting and I had miles to drive.
Best crab sandwich in years? Sea Harvest Fish Market & Restaurant in Crossroads Center in Carmel, CA - grilled rolled with some seasoning and lots of fresh crab.
