“What a find!!”

Luckily before heading off from San Francisco on a quick vineyard tour, we met some people who pointed us in the right direction for both hotels and vineyards. This hotel (approx. 2.5 hours north of SF) was a gem... We arrived late, people were already eating in the restaurant/bar area, and the comfortable attitude of the staff who welcomed us was just what we needed. Three of us traveling, sharing a room, all tired and two of us had a cold coming on - so we needed some nurturing - and this is what we got. The room wasn't big, but quite sufficientt - bathroom clean and good size. The hotel bar had locals sipping some of the delicious wines from the region - and we were offered some local cider to start off the night. We had a choice of eating in (by the fire) or crossing the road to a recommended restaurant - as you can imagine the option to take up home cooking for $44 per head was a winner - and we were not unhappy. Food was delicious. Slept well and journeyed on the next day.

We enjoyed the Boonville Hotel during the recent winter holidays. It was a lovely warm place with friendly staff and a great meal. We stayed in Room 1 which offered a separate sitting area and big terrace over the front of the building. Really nice! There are a couple of cute shops on the main drag as well as wineries nearby. It's on the pricey side but at least I didn't have to worry about the dreaded "two day minimum stay" at this time of year. I probably would enjoy the property more in the spring and summer, though the wintry weather was evocative.

We spent the past weekend with four friends from LA at the Hotel and just had a perfect time. The staff is so kind and accomodating, the rooms are unique and fun, the atmosphere is relaxed and warm-- and the dinner was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. They even made a personalized carrot cake for my birthday-- I mean, really?? :) WOW. Our only regret is that we did not get to see the big fat house cat, Gus, as he was hiding from the pouring rain. I guess we'll have to go back!

We hosted our annual marketing roundtable at this amazing hotel for the first time. Loved the location as well as the meeting space - making for some very creative meetings. The hotel rooms were so inviting and comfortable that it was hard to leave, but so good to get back too. Loved the grounds as you can wander around, sit by the outdoor fireplaces with a glass of wine and talk to other guests. The place really has a "homey" feeling to it, everything so comfortable, everyone was your friend. I can see myself going back for a romatic getaway or just for a girls weekend away. Found a massage therapist (recommended by the hotel owner) with magical fingers right across the street from the hotel, another plus.

Now for the food....unbelievable. Loved the menu and that all the food was sourced from local farmers and ranches. Good, clean and tempting plates were served to us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And the most important thing.....GREAT COFFEE in the morning. The staff were always ready, willing and available to assist with any requests.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have lots of bright, natural light. Rooms towards the back are a little quieter and off...

I love everything about this hotel. From the friendly staff, the tasteful decor, the beautiful grounds to the restaurant (which has the best food in Mendocino County). When we need to escape the city and experience wine country without attitude, we head straight to Anderson Valley and check in here. I've tried many of the area restaurants, including the really expensive places overlooking the ocean in Mendocino, and none of them compare to the food at Booneville Hotel. I recommend checking in and not leaving!

Great romantic getaway in the middle of the Mendocino wine country. This bed and breakfast was the perfect place to stop mid a wine country tour. The staff made you feel like part of the family. Diner at 128 in the hotel, a prix fixe meal, was a wonderful gourmet experience and included freshly picked produce from the hotel's garden on the grounds. Choose one of the tables by the fire place. On the grounds there are multiple private seating areas, some with fire pits that allow you to take a drink from the bar and relax or all the rooms have private balconies if you want more privacy.

We stayed at the Boonville Hotel on a little road trip for my 30th birthday last week. We hadn't made reservations because it was a Thursday night and I had been checking that it was very open that night, which seems to be a rarity. We lucked out and got to explore the entire property and all of the available rooms. The rooms within the original hotel are great, but we chose to stay out in one of the out buildings instead. It was perfect. The property is so beautiful, yet unassuming from the front o the hotel. They have an amazing garden and large back patio. We felt so at home.

After exploring Anderson valley for the next few days, we were even more certain that this is the only place to stay. This hotel isn't your standard hotel experience- it is so much more unique than that. The morning we left I enjoyed my freshly made scones and coffee in a steaming hot, outdoor, claw foot tub. Seriously- life doesn't get any better. I can't wait to go back.

Make sure you don't pass up dinner at the hotel- it is simply delicious no matter what they are making. And check out Libby's in Philo- amazing mexican food, coming from a native San Diegan- that is a high bar to meet but Libby's meets it.
