We were not sure it would be all it looked to be - it wasn't - it was more! Very Clean and quiet. So cozy and really southwestern. The decor is delightful. The grounds and pool areas were very clean. We especially liked the coffee munchkins that had the coffee ready each morning at 7:15.

The room was so nice and cool when we arrived, the lights on and even the ceiing fans! (It was about 113 that day!)

Beth was an excellent host host.

We will be back in 2 weeks - leave the light on for us.

Room Tip: Very clean and well uniquely decorated

The peace and tranquility the Borrego Valley Inn offers is above and beyond. Borrego Springs is a designated Dark Sky community and you can experience the beauty of the evening sky right from your own personal patio - an amazing experience. Plus the Innkeepers and staff are superb and professional.

Everyone at Borrego Valley Inn went out of their way to make our stay delightful and convenient - very friendly yet respectful of privacy. Our room was lovely, comfy and spacious with seating area and lots of light, sumptuous shower, and a beautiful private patio for night stargazing. The surrounding landscaping and pools are the BEST - where else can you ponder ancient mountains that change dramatically with the light? We loved the kitchenette, the breakfasts, and the fresh coffee all day long (icing it is good in this hot weather). We will be back, without question. Highly recommended!

This is by far our favorite place to take a peaceful vacation. The owners are just spectacular, salt of the earth people and the property is second to none.

We stayed 4 nights and shopped and ate in Borrego Springs. Loved the afternoon cookies and the wonderful breakfast we had each morning at the inn. We hiked every day and went off-roading many times during our stay. We could not have had a more fun and relaxing vacation. What a value and gift!

I was sent out from the East Coast to work in San Diego for 4 weeks. After two weeks my wife came out for a visit. I found a weekend trip to Borrego Springs area as a very nice diversion from San Diego. Our stay at the Borrego Valley Inn was just what was called for to see the stars. The rooms were very nicely decorated, clean and quite...we stayed in Beavertail. The swimming pool was clean and very welcomed in the desert afternoon's heat. The inn's housekeeper, Susan, was very accomodating and interested in making sure we were accomodated for during our stay. Our next trip to the San Diego area will definitely bring us back to the Borrego Valley Inn but next time we'll plan to visit when there isn't a full moon.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Beavertail room and were very pleased with it.

I came with my significant other, he was leaning toward the resort with the golf course, etcetera, but I felt this place had more charm and would offer a more unique experience. So after some convincing we came here, and it was a horrid idea to come to Borrego Springs during August. The sun was scorching and most of the businesses were closed. There was really not much to do, just being outside made you dizzy.

The property seemed empty and was very quiet. Even so I loved our room, we stayed in an end unit and it was nicely equipped and thoughtfully decorated. I also really liked the grounds of the inn, it's well maintained and nicely landscaped. The pool was fun, I was excited to use their clothing optional pool, but we used the regular pool instead because of the beautiful desert view (the clothing optional pool is enclosed). Despite liking many things about the inn, there were some things that bothered me. First off, there's a cage with finches smack in the middle of the property and it apparently attracts some wild birds to the grounds. I was startled when I saw a roadrunner dash in front of me on the first day (I don't like birds), and the next day he was standing outside my room on top of one of the sitting chairs. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that housekeeping is only available until 1pm and it is apparently just one woman. We got a call before noon from her stating that she was leaving soon, so we had to get out of bed for her to come. Another thing that was dissapointing was their check out time. It's very early compared to other places at 11:30, and after a tiring day we asked if it was possible to check out a half hour later at 12pm and we were told no. The owner also stated that the next guests were waiting for our room already which shouldn't have been an issue since their check in isn't until 4pm anyhow if they're going to go by the rules. The inn seemed so empty and there wasn't anyone in the lobby or on the grounds that her excuse seemed strange. There was nothing for us to do but hurry up and get out, but when it was a couple minutes passed 11:30, 11:37 to be axact, our phone was already ringing with her on the line at which point we had to explain to her that we were about to walk out of the door. Just for this reason, I think I'll opt for the resort next time.

Thanks for taking time to post a review. As you noted, the desert in August isn't for everyone, and can be quite hot. Summer is not peak season, and our town often feels "empty" and "very quiet" then, an experience our dedicated summer guests appreciate and seek out. We operate in a very natural setting with plentiful native flora and fauna like roadrunners (and other critters, too!), which our guests will find around the property. We modify our operations a bit in summer, with housekeeping available until 1:00 P.M. We do check with our guests to make sure they get daily service if they want it. 11:30 is a pretty-common check-out time, and we are happy to extend it where we can. Our check-in time is anytime after 1:00 P.M., as soon as your room is ready. Since your room was booked for an arrival the day of your departure, we could not extend your check-out and have the room ready by 1:00 P.M. We are sorry you felt inconvenienced and regret if our staff’s communications were not consistent with your expectations.
