“Peaceful and Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

Once again we traveled to Borrego Valley Inn. We went on the spur of the moment and our room was cool and clean when we arrived.
The days are hot but the evenings refreshing.
Breakfast was waiting in our in room refrigerator and was delicious (had some before we retired)
We have stayed here many times and love it.
The new flagstone patios are wonderful.
Quiet, private, peaceful and beautiful as always

Room Tip: We stayed in #1 this time and next to the suite this is our favority. Easy access to adult pool

Thank you so very much -- not only for being such a gracious and loyal repeal guest, but for your generosity as well. We are happy to hear you like chef Pamela's new breakfast basket menus. They are getting rave reviews! And we are thrilled to hear you approve of the new flagstone patios, an improvement we had been wanting to do for a long time. We appreciate your spur of the moment visit. The solitude and quiet of the summer desert is something to experience. Thanks so much again for coming back!

My wife and I were looking for a little R&R and a night away from our little rascals and I happened upon the Borrego Valley Inn via Tripadvisor. Some might think it a little crazy to come to Borrego in July and it was truly very quiet but that was all the better for us. We had a fantastic night's stay. The room was beautifully clean and all the amenities were well thought out. Everything from the soaps to the Pendleton Blankets. Breakfast was home made and delicious. We shall definitely be back.

Thanks for finding us, and good for you for making time for a little R&R and a night away from your "rascals" -- we do need to re-charge from that job! As you discovered, the summer desert is the place for true solitude and quiet -- many consider summer here as a "meditation." We're so happy you found that at the Inn, and we look forward to your return. In the meantime, happy trails to you and those rascals!

I am not sure I can add too much to what others have mentioned. We have stayed here twice already, once in the suite and once in a room on the same side, both times in December. We love the peaceful atmosphere here (no kids! - love them, but sometimes need quiet you know) and the hotel provides understated luxury for a wonderful desert getaway. Staying at the suite was great since we had a lot of room and we like to cook and have our own snacks but the other rooms also have small fridges and sinks, making it possible to at least have light food and drinks in your room. The decor is really fitting at this inn, tasteful, true to the desert, and unobtrusive. The guests tend to be quiet and respectful of others. The breakfast and cookies are simply great. We have always gone to the clothing optional pool, but have never seen any other guests there (with clothing or not). The hot tub is wonderful to visit on a cold winter night and simply watching the stars from there or from your porch is worth the trip alone. We are sure to go back to Borrego valley inn.

Thanks for returning and posting a review. We're happy to know you found the Inn peaceful (that's something we all need more of) and that you enjoyed breakfast and Luisa's afternoon cookies. Especially appreciated is your comment about other guests being quiet and respectful -- you put it perfectly. The Inn seems to attract the nicest people! Most are seeking a respite from crazy-busy lives and congestion and noise, and we are so very pleased to offer a place that soothes the soul. Look for our "Come On Back!" special offer for returning guests (October 4 - December 14) -- book a Friday and Saturday and get Thursday or Sunday night free. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

I've stayed here for years whenever I can. I enjoy the peacefulness of the desert and this inn is well maintained with comfortable, southwest style guestrooms containing a nice little kitchenette. Love the clothing optional swim area and hot tub. Summer is usually particularly quiet all through Borrego and is my favorite time to go. At BVI, breakfast is delivered to your fridge in the summer and it was amazing this year. The office person told me they have a new breakfast cook and it shows, and apparently the winter season buffet is expanded as well.

It's nice to know another summer desert lover! As a returning guest, your comments about our improvements are music to our ears, and we're thrilled that you enjoyed Chef Pamela's summer breakfast basket menus. And you're right about the in-season breakfast buffet -- Pamela has pulled out all the stops to create a memorable start to the day, and we see a lot of happy faces each morning. We hope you can come back to sample it some time!

Thanks for visiting once again, and we truly appreciate your taking the time to post your review. Till we meet again, we hope the miles beneath your boots are happy and beautiful.

Borrego has so much to offer to those looking for photo opportunities. We were up very early (4:00) to catch the sunrise, if you sleep till 6 you will miss it. We also shot the sunset and the great star filled night. BVI is a wonderful retreat with very clean grounds and rooms. It's very quite, which is what I want on this type of get away. We would take naps during the day because of our hours and the air conditioning was constantly kicking on and off and was too loud. Other than that, the rooms (#13) and bed are very comfortable. Worth the trip.

Room Tip: There are different types and sizes of rooms and patios. Look at the map and selection of rooms and...

Love that word "Heaven!" Thanks so much for visiting and for your kind words. Summertime visits are in a league by themselves because of the long sunsets and amazing summer Milky Way skies, and we're glad you enjoyed it.

Of course, we do need our creature comforts like air-conditioning in the summer, and we're sorry you were bothered by the noise from the PTAC unit in #13 For future summer visits, please note there is new (and more quiet) central air conditioning in all Palo Verde (#1, #7, #8, #14), Mesquite (#4, #5, #11, #12),and Ocotillo (#3, #10) rooms -- Smoketree Rooms (#6, #13) are the only ones with PTACs.

Thanks again for your post, and we'll keep the stars shining for you!

Best place to stay in Borrego springs without question. Rooms are large and well furnished. Breakfast is nice. Lying by the pool is the best .We like to come in the hot weather ,nap in the afternoon and recline by the pool at night and look at the night sky.

You have the summer desert experience spot on! Thanks for visiting, and we're very happy you find the Inn the "best spot" in Borrego. But we're even happier that you (like us) enjoy the summer ambiance here. It's not for everyone, but there's no better place to melt the stress from soul and bones than the desert in summer. We'll keep the floaties ready for you!

Well, first off, I'm hesitant to write a good review because I'd hate to see BVI become too popular :)

That being said, we just spent two nights/three days here in the casita with the kitchen and BBQ (#15). Very nice and comfortable.

Like most of the other reviews on here said, the breakfasts were amazing and a very pleasant surprise. Wasabi deviled eggs, bacon, basil, swiss cheese and cherry tomato panninis, amazing bread puddings (more like a quiche), fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola parfaits, juices, coffee, etc. We were expecting some boxes of cereal, generic pastries, etc. NO WAY!

The property was very well maintained and attractive, the front desk help was very nice and helpful, the lady who made the breakfast offered to pack up the food leftover from breakfast for us for a picnic, etc.

Very quiet and relaxing in the evening sitting out under the stars. I will definitely be back!

Room Tip: If you want to do a little cooking on your own, room 15 is definitely the way to go. We BBQ'd...

Thank you so very much for visiting the inn and for your review. It sure sounds like you captured the essence of desert enjoyment. We couldn't be happier that you found your stay comfortable, and we're very pleased you enjoyed Chef Pamela's wonderful Badlands Breakfast -- believe me, she has spoiled all of us for good with her yummy creations! Your evening dining experience sounds divine, too -- dinner under the stars with a good bottle of wine. . . . .We're sold!

We hope you have the chance to return soon. Until then, may the miles beneath your boots be happy ones!
