“Surprising Find at the Lake”
Reviewed 30 March 2013 via mobile

We recently booked a lake view lodge at Lake Nacimiento Resort. It was spacious, very clean and equipped with all of the essentials. The views were incredible and we couldn't believe the price! The resort staff were very nice and attentive. Beverly at the check in desk was very caring and courteous. Our lodge was quiet and dog friendly, which is a rare find in the area. We brought our two dogs and the whole family had a great time. We fished out front of our unit, rented a boat at the nearby marina, and walked the dogs on nearby trails. Our unit had a deck, a grill and a fire ring outside which all came in handy as we cooked and ate dinner outside. The only downside was the mattress in the master bedroom. It was cheap and uncomfortable.

Hi everyone, was thinking of trying Lake Naciemento / Sandy point this 2013 summer again but after reading the review above maybe Not. I like her,..we used to go camp @ Sandy Point since the mid 90s with our 3 kids and always brought friends and family with us. It was so nice!!! But the last time we went around 2008 it was horrible experience too. A huge group of G/Ls came in at night and were drinking, cussin, screamin till late in the night. Now I dont care about your sexual identity but how about some respect for other people camping? My dear husband walk all the way to the rangers office (long walk ! @ midnight!) The next night same thing. It was RIFF RAFF!! I didnt see any rangers either like I used too. This used to be a Beautiful, upscale, nice place to camp, barbeque and meet cool campers, and socalize with other camper/boaters but yea I think it has good down hill. Just riff raff campers . . I dont mind paying high price if it is quality.... but it is NO Longer quality , Really too bad.

Room Tip: too much money to sleep next to Riff Raff

A group of us have been staying at Sandy Point since the mid-1990s. It was always clean and well-kempt. This year, with the water at 95%, promised to be awesome. However, on Friday night, a group of young men moved in two sites below us and they were drinking, playing LOUD music, dropping F-bombs, and taunting each other to fight until 2:30 am. None of felt safe to ask them to quiet down.

Then, in the campsite next to us, a group of families moved into one campsite with 35 people. They were chatting and talking until 12:30 am.

At no time during this Friday evening described, the rangers never showed up, drove through or in any way made their presence known.

For the 11 times I have visited Sandy Point and quiet time was always respected at 10pm. Staying at Sandy Point is not inexpensive and requires reservations made well in advance.

Now that Monterey County manages Lake Nacimiento, they need to actively patrol to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors.... or the visitors who respect the space will go find another place to camp.

Room Tip: This is about the campsites at Sandy Point, Lake Nacimiento Resort
