A good place to stay if you are wine/olive tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley or driving up/down the coast for beaches or country side. Spend the whole day out exploring the beautiful valley's either by bike, car, or aerial. This hotel is right on the 101 freeway and an easy access to Santa Barbara without the high $$. Gives you time to shower and sleep before the next day without the drive. Very minimal accommodations but good for the money. If you want to shop, then I would suggest staying in SB as this valley only offers tourist attraction wares. Its the countryside that is the seller here.
o. Forgot how funny the wakeup call was!

Room Tip: always choose the bottom floor!

i recently stayed at this motel. although the location is good and its clean, i forgot my child's stuffed animal (large not small) and it was stolen. We went back for it the same day and they couldn't find it. It was a 30 inch doll not a small toy. i don't know what kind of animal steals a child's toy but they should be fired on the spot.

Nearly $90 for a Motel 6!?!?
Yes, but at least it's nice.
Still, I was taken aback when the desk clerk - friendly as he was - swiped my Visa and gave me my total - with WiFi! - of nearly 90 bucks.
Now, that may seem like a lot, and for a Motel 6, it is. But remember that this is primo California real estate country, and you are not going to find anything cheaper in this area. Or, at least I wasn't able to find anything cheaper. Hey, at least the Taco Bell next door isn't any more expensive than anywhere else...not that I would know...(cough cough...)
This is at least a nice Motel 6, though the rooms are small. The A/C blew COLD air (good), and the shower seemed new (good).
The rest of the story is quintessential Motel 6: old-school 19 inch TV, sink outside the bathroom, and no bath stuff other than a bar of soap.
Normally, I would give this four stars. But what they charge - Cal-EE or not - seems excessive.
That said, if you can find something cheaper, then my hat is off to you...

Never stay again. No breakfast, no usual amenities in room such as coffee maker, iron, safe, ect. Just a cheap place to sleep but not quiet - very close to highway.

Room Tip: Don`t choose a room overlooking the highway
