We have been camping here on and off since 1996. Clearly the management is doing something right as we have seen many changes/upgrades over the last few years. On our most recent trip, we were surprised at how busy and crowded the campground was....so much so, that we stayed away from the pool and common areas....simply way too crowded and noisy! Clearly the pool area is not designed to accommodate the number of guests this campground can accommodate during peak times. This is a typical urban campground, so sites are pretty tight; the hook-ups are shielded by well maintained and healthy shrubs, so this was a nice feature. Although the desk staff are friendly and welcoming; I agree with another reviewers comment about the site staff (that drive around in the golf carts) they are anything but friendly. Last but not least, the internet service/signal was weak; and as a result, web browsing was slow. We will continue to visit flying flags, but will do so during off-peak season.

Room Tip: The "no hook-up" area has no trees!

Perhaps it was the "high season." Perhaps it is that I'm so "over" screaming kids. Perhaps it's me. This park is nice and clean. The pool is newly remodeled. The bathrooms are super clean. The layout of the park is comfortable.

However, the toilets ran over and were blocked up. The showers got ridiculously messy. The pool was literally over run by people. Over crowded. Screaming kids everywhere...even well after dark.

~~Meh~~

We had planned only one night stay but enjoyed everything about this site and the surrounding towns. So we did all of our tourist obligations and then just relaxed at our site. We would highly recommend this site.

Very well maintained RV park, with everything cleaned each morning. Some areas do get some traffic (101) noise; Avenue of the Flags is not a problem. It's a great location, just a few miles from Solvang (Danish community).

Very clean campground and it is very easy to move around in with your RV. All spots are pull through and if you want they have hood ups. Very friendly staff and right in the middle of wine country. Will be back thats for sure.

This was our second visit here. We love the upgrades that have been made to the property. This is a great place to bring the kids! We enjoyed the pool, arcade, giant property to ride books around, playground and watching family movies on the big-screen around the pool at night. I did notice that the sites near the entrance are more narrow than some between the playground and pool. This is also a great convenient location. Just minutes away from Solvang and Los Olivos, there is so much near by!

Over all we really like FLAGS RV PARK, Buellton but, this trip something happened. We had enjoyed Wednesday & Thursday evening sitting out side, enjoying the other campers and the beautiful weather. Then, across from our site a motorhome and trailer pulled in and out stepped 4 young men. No problem, there. They set up their site, no problem. When my husband stepped out of our trailer to BBQ burgers on a propane (we would never use wood or charcoal) in such tight spaces, these 4 men had morfed into over a dozen. They were loud, had loud music playing and the amount of smoke billowing from their "wood burning" fire pit was so bad we couldn't see them. We ate inside and turned up the TV trying not to have to hear their music. The vibrations were pretty bad, not to mention the smoke smell was choking. There are good reasons some towns/cities, have "no fireplace, fire pits or fires of any kind", laws. Maybe, Flags RV Park, should be one of them. We tried not to make a scene but 2 hrs. later, we had to call the office and they were so very accommodating. Awesome, actually. She said, "they would be glad to give us a different site, if we wanted." We did, and had a very nice quite and smoke free evening. Just in the time it us to move, I experenced breathing difficulties from all the smoke. In the few times we've been here, we never noticed "fire pits". That's why we liked this park. One more irritation, small but, irritating, just the same. Most of the employees that ride around in the golf carts, are just plain rude.
