Pea Soup Andersen's Inn

Not glamourous, not trendy, not luxurious...
Yet it was clean, the towels were of a good size, we asked for a quiet room and we received a quiet room... The Continental breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but the coffee was hot. Since the rooms have a refrigerator you can bring your own fresh fruit and yogurt to complement the pastries! Sure you could pay more for a room elsewhere and get more, but this was just fine - and I would return.
If you find yourself in Buellton on a budget, you won't go wrong with a stay at Pea Soup Anderson's.

Have eaten at Pea Soup Andersen's for years and this was our first chance to stay here. Perfect location for Solvang as well. Right off of Highway 101, yet quiet. I love the central courtyard theme of a hotel like this. Drive up to door, and nice large room with patio (1st floor) Refrigerator and Microwave in room. Pool and jacuzzi along with putting green and Bocci ball court. The benches for resting are engraved with lovely quotes. It was very quiet as we checked in the day after the labor day weekend. The feel is old fashioned and very enjoyable. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel, this is probably not for you, but if you are a regular person that enjoys the little pleasures in life, this is the hotel for you. Architecture is cute and breakfast room with coffee, juice and danish is nice. I will stay again!

Andersen's Inn exceeded my expectations. We got a very quiet room and the layout was great. Lots of nooks & crannies to place your suitcase, bags, etc. The surfaces were updated and this was one of the only inns in the area that had two double beds with no minimum stay for the weekend.

A couple of things they could improve on were
- The pool wasn't heated so we couldn't swim for too long
- I believe the beds were double size and not true queens
- WiFi wasn't available in our room, probably because of it's secluded spot

Lots of pluses:
- Friendly staff
- Putting green
- Nice morning coffee/danish area. I'm not a danish person but they were very fresh
- 24 hour surveillance throughout the property
- Great water pressure
- So many TV channels! More than what I see at the big names like Hilton
- Location is right off the 101 and easy access to Solvang and other towns

Would highly recommend for people seeking a convenient stop.

Great value. Clean, spacious room. Comfortable bed and lots of pillows! Biz trip but still enjoyed waking up to coffee in the am! Try the Figueroa Brewery while you are in town. Wineries are nearby and within walking distance to a couple of restaurants.

My husband and I only stayed 1 night as we wanted a place stopover en route to Big Sur. The hotel is conveniently located right off the 101 Freeway and close by Solvang and Santa Ynez.

Our room was spacious and clean with a "no frills" decor. This is definitely not a place to spend a romantic weekend by any means. However, if you have children and want something affordable and family friendly, this hotel is great. Kids will love the mini golf area and swimming pool.

Some things this Inn has that similar inns/hotels don't were a large screen door that leads into a pseudo-private patio area (with lounge chairs!) and a microwave. There is also an empty mini refrigerator and a coffee maker. Breakfast is included and consisted of various danishes, muffins and breads along with juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. They also give you a coupon to use towards the restaurant next door. I can see where some families would be able to spend a week or more here and still stay within budget, especially with the microwave and fridge in the room.

Our room was along the front, facing the street. To a certain extent, it was quiet in that I didn't hear any street noise. However, the walls were pretty thin, so I could hear the neighbors both next to and above me. This was the reason why I didn't give the Inn 5 stars.

As noted above, I would only recommend this Inn for families on a budget or travelers who need to spend the night somewhere relatively inexpensive and clean.

The first thing you notice when you walk in the room is that is smells clean - not overpowering chemical clean smelling, just clean. The rooms were very nice sized, and rooms on the second story had a balcony with chairs, overlooking the pool. The room has a microwave and fridge. The pool was very clean, and there was also a lawn bowling green and little putting green. The rate was extremely reasonable and the staff was extremely friendly.

There was a great pizza place advertised in the guest info book: Gino's pizza. They delivered a great pizza and salad to our room. The breakfast was pastry fare: the danishes were fantastic!!

Two teeny tiny negatives: 1. The wifi was weak in our room (but we were still able to get online); 2. The bathroom didn't have shampoo. Not a big deal, but if you happened to be out and were relying on the hotel shampoo, you'd be disappointed.

Would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the second floor.
