Owner description: Travel to the 11th Century at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. In SoCal, home to so many theme park and family entertainment destinations, one stands alone for its unique and grand scale entertainment. Where else can you enter a European style castle and be immediately transported to the 11th century? Where else can you dine on a feast fit for a King while cheering your favorite knight to victory as he skillfully jousts and swordfights his mighty opponent while atop a magnificent Andalusian stallion. This extraordinary destination is Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Buena Park. It’s been entertaining guests since 1986. And if you haven’t yet experienced it, now is the time.

Families might like this but one time is enough. Food is bad and over charged but kids love the entertainment. If going to Disneyland and you have extra time it might be worth it.

It was relaxing and it was fun to cheer our Knight to vicory. The Grandchildren very much enjoyed meeting the cast and had a wonderful time. The meal was exceptional, even without utensils.

We got a group of 19 people, mostly locals, to attend the show while we were visiting family. We had people of all ages from 4 to 70. It was a very fun experience from the first step in the castle!! You can see the horses up close, have a drink, shop and mingle with your friends before the show. The show is fantastic!! True skill, both horse and rider. The falcon is AMAZING! The food is better than expect AND there is NO silverware which really does make it fun believe it or not! You drink your soup and rip apart your chicken.

The horses are very well taken care of and probably have one of the easiest jobs a working horse can have...don't feel bad for the horses!!

There's not a bad seat in the house, trust me! A very fun evening!

Great Idea - Medieval theme. The entire operation is well-run. They are used to large crowds, so they've got the service down to an art. Its fun to eat food with your hands, and there is something everyone will like on the menu.
The show is a lot of crowd involvement, which adds to the fun. Costumes and decorations great.
My only problem is that I feel bad for the horses. I'm a sucker for animals.

We went to this on our last night in the USA. We had our two daughters aged six and eight and we all had a great time. It was made extra special by the fact that one daughter was given a rose by our knight and the other was awarded the "Queen of the tournament: sash by him so that obviously made the night (knight!) for them. This was probably the most expensive thing that we did on our trip, certainly meal wise, but it was very enjoyable. The children didn't really like the food and the servings were so big that my husband and I couldn't finish ours (I didn't even have room for desert, but that may have also been the fault of the huge frozen cocktail purchased from the bar in a souvenier glass earlier) The acting skills of the knights is outstanding and obviously the talent and training of the horses is amazing. We are glad that we went.
