The hotel is a typical full-service Mariott. It has pluses & minuses.

On the plus side: Very convenient location, shuttle to / from SFO, easy to check in / out, Concierge lounge food better than most. The electronics in the room are updated - flat panel TV, good selection of channels (including the "yule log" channel which made me smile).

On the not so plus: When I am in a room with standard Marriott appointments, I sleep really well. When (like last night) I am put in an "allergy free" room with foam pillows & no feather bed or down comforter, I don't. I would prefer to have been given a choice in that. Some of the details of the hotel are starting to feel a bit dated, but like I said average for a Marriott. They will get around to mode updates.

Overall, a decent place. I just didn't sleep so well there this time around. Glad it was only overnight.

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view if you want one - otherwise you can end up with a nice view of the street.

This was a great Marriott and a very convenient place to stay before an early morning flight from SFO. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice view overlooking the bay. Service and quality of the food in the lobby was great for a light bite. Transportation to the airport was complimentary and reliable. We will definitely consider this property again the next time we need to fly from SFO.

This room was comfortable and clean, with many amenities, although not all that I would expect from a hotel in this price range. The view from the room overlooking the bay and airport was a very nice addition. The food and beverage service in the bar in the lobby was good and the food very good. Some of the staff seemed rather unexperienced, for example cleaning areas before patrons were finished, or forgetting to take orders from all those present. Food prices were in line with what one would expect in San Francisco.

The positives....rooms were spacious and easy to do work in with the desk; beds were comfortable, in room coffee maker was present, although supplied coffee leaves a lot to be desired (it is fairly common to have poor coffee supplied in room), but luckily there is a real Starbucks in the lobby (although very limited hours); staff was pleasant and very helpul; good free shuttle service to/from SFO; fast check-in and check-out.

The negatives....very small bathroom (kept banging into walls when moving around in bathroom and I'm not a very big person); seemed like small tub with nice shower though; lacked some amenities I am accustomed to with high end hotels, such as shoe shine glove (maybe because shoe shine service in lobby), cutips, makeup remover cloth, etc (only provided soap, shampoo, conditioner); charge for internet access which isn't all that fast to begin with (I still don't understand why this amenity is just not included in each room free as lower end hotels offer).

Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant hotel to stay in, and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor with a view of the bay/airport....well worth the view.

We booked into the hotel for one night to be close to the airport for the final leg of our journey home from holidays.

Whilst the location was great for that purpose, the hotel itself was quite disappointing and not at all what we had expected from some of the reviews we had read.

Service is not something the hotel seems to know much about. No-one offered to look after bags on arrival - even though there were staff were around for that purpose.

The corridors were constantly blocked by housekeeping trolleys day and night, making it very difficult to get our bags through to our room on arrival, or back out when leaving.

There was a musty odour in the hallways which we had hoped would not also be in the room - unfortunately, the room air was no fresher. We had a view of the runway in the distance, but the windows were quite dirty , and overall the room had a grimy feeling.

Fittings and furnishings are all very old and worn - paper cups only supplied. Lumpy bed, and internet charges horrendous. Not quite the advertised 4 star experience.

Granted we had been spoilt by some truly fantastic accommodations in the previous weeks of our holiday, but this hotel really was below average.

I don't normally write negative reviews, but felt an obligation to other travellers, as I had only seen good reviews on this hotel before, and trusted those, only to be disappointed.
